  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis G70 Reviews

G70 3.3T RWD street racing an older M5 and the Mustang 5.0. I think this guy has a JB4.

You're giving Beefer ideas now!
I can just imagine him yelling 1-2-3!

Interesting Korean review.

Yeah, another luke-warm review of the new 3 series design. Seems like BMW still didn't get the message, and the price is a bit crazy.
Good for Genesis!
Don't think they care though!
They have enough in their fleet for every kind of driver!
It's make or break for Genesis. Not for BMW!

I guess, although the 3 series is their bread and butter. Lots of customers don't want to have to buy an M3, for various reasons. If their 3 series sales start to drop, I think they'll care.

Thanks for the review, it's good to see more of these, although Kelley BB reviews seem very "fluffy" and subjective, not "scientifically" done to me. Also seemed very much slanted in favor of the G70. For example they have the tall guy complain about headroom in the back of the BMW (while he actually seems to have a couple of inches of headroom!), but then the lady sits in the back of the G70, with no mention of headroom. They ding the BMW trunk for having some exposed sheet metal, but fail to mention that it's significantly larger than the G70's trunk. Also, I have a hard time taking anyone seriously as a car person who calls the BMW a "Beemer" ; that's a motorcycle.
I've been waiting for a real objective review from Car & Driver comparing the 3.3T to the M340i. Since the 330i came out first, the reviews have almost all been of the four cylinder models.

Even more funny that they complained about the exposed sheet metal in the BMW trunk, considering this view of my G70 trunk.

I don't understand. 😲
Don't get me wrong, it doesn't bother me to see this, but how can a reviewer be so blatantly inconsistent? (Maybe some models of the G70 have this area covered in trim?)

in the video i looked away for a second and thought they were talking about the G70s exposed trunk. I also cant believe they were that inconsistent, kinda invalidates everything they said. I dont believe any G70s come with a covered trunk, at least not NA models

They had the Design Special Edition. Can anyone confirm?...your trunk have exposed frame on the top inside?

Yep - exposed frame on top of inside trunk on my Design edition.

2020 G70 models don't have an exposed trunk I think, but yeah the video was kinda inconsistent with the details. KBB reviews are pretty surface level and very generous in their good opinions, but I think the best thing to pull away from them is the overall impression they have. I'm not sure about the other editors, but the editor in chief Micah was a professional driver... Of some sort, so their candid opinions can hold good weight.

I saw the 2020 at auto show and made sure to check the trunk - it was exposed. I found this surprising as in Korea it is covered.
