  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis G70 Reviews

Genesis Canada seems good about hooking up reviewers with G70s. According to Savagegeese's shout out, this seems to be thanks to Patrick from Genesis PR ;).

I hear that guy is a clown... ;)

Motoring TV...

Note. You hear the sound 3 times. Exhaust (natural and nice)...driving away from outside (outside and nice)...and inside why he's taking off (interior and enhanced...but very natural).

^ yeah, they also did a test drive segment on a 2.0T trim on a subsequent episode. while Motoring TV does cover a decent cross section of the car market, they often stay at too high a level to really get a sense of the vehicle from a nuts and bolts mechanical perspective. too much time is spent on interior/tech/various capacities.

another Canadian reviewer who goes by Motormouth gives a more well rounded review (may have already been posted here):

same guy (again, may be a repost):

Here is a good review of the 6-speed manual in Sport trim. To add...this is Siberian Ice...and he confirms what I always thought...he calls it a bluish white.

Recent review from SavageGeese:
"This is a great cruiser with a little bit of performance edge you're going to enjoy driving everyday for your mundane tasks...and have just enough fun to be dangerous.."

So the tidbits we got from SavageGeese's live stream in Canada were just a false alarm. He likes the car a lot. As he did mention, it's not as solid and cushy as the G80, but when you take into account the massive weight the G80 uses to achieve that solidity, I'd prefer the lighter G70.

I’m 99% in agreement with this review and I think he’s accurate about some of the few negatives of the car (e.g. transmission could be slightly improved), but I wouldn’t say my G70 understeers at all — I find it super direct and predictable, one of the best things about it.

One point nobody ever raises but I’ve noticed is that the car has a fairly large turning radius for its size. I park in a tight garage and lock the wheel completely to get around corners. It’s not a problem, but something I noticed it coming from the C300.

I've actually looked into the turning radius for the G70, since easy and tight turns are something that helps make a car feel agile for me. The AWD is slightly bigger than the rest of the class from a quick Google search (so I can't see if the competitors are RWD or AWD), but the RWD has a competitive turning radius.

G70 (AWD): 18.7 ft
G70 (RWD): 18.0'
Mercedes C300: 18.4'
BMW 330i: 18.55'
Alfa Romeo Giulia: 17.75'
Lexus IS350: 17.1'
Audi A4: 19.05'

Also, a first impressions review is up from Matt Maran:

So curious...why haven’t there been any extended video reviews from the USA. Non amateur that is...from the big folks if you will.

Still getting it out there, I think. Geese was put in contact with me by the Straight Pipes guys, and as I'm a big fan of his channel, gladly tossed him some keys.

I'd LOVE some keys! :sneaky:

Lol at the rate we're going down here in the US, they might be able to build up to that before it's widely available 😂.

LOL - Does my new 100,000+ subscriber YouTube channel have to be about cars? If I make it, do I get to keep the car? I've gotta know if you're serious!
