  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis G70 Reviews

Which is why I disagree. Compare the same thing. If you want to compare the MB or the BMW...you have to load it up so it has the same features as the loaded G70. You simply cannot compare otherwise.

^ sure a guy can. a guy can skew the lense with which to view his comparison however he feels like it. whether the reader agrees is up to them. how one arrives at the overall value proposition can be subjective. time and again we see skewed comparos. how many times has a BMW or Porsche won a C&D comparo when optioned up well above the worthy competitor?

i agree with you that the overall package should be compared at similar levels of content. but i also agree with Straight Pipes that the performance or visceral aspects of a car would trump features regardless. they are saying they'd take the C43 base over the loaded 3.3T Sport. many people out there would not do the same.

if a guy places vastly more weight on the performance/feel/sound and other tactile or brand envy aspects of a car, then the features are secondary and the balance of the review can be irrelevant to a reader who places more emphasis on the features or overall packaging.

Exactly and some people just want to own a certain brand even if it doesn't come with power windows or AC!
Heck was there a reason for the B Class other than poor people wanting to say they owned a MB?
Anyway there's no way you're walking off the MB or BMW dealership paying just base price. They'll rape you with other nonsense like 2 years prepaid service cost and etc!

I usually like these guys but this was a silly review. Nothing really new, lots of advertisements, and some rambling at the end about comparisons.

The G70 3.3T is the best overall package right now for its price point. It's not meant to be a 100% performance sedan, it does an excellent double duty job in daily driving comfort and being able to have fun with it at same time (moreso than the stinger). If I wanted pure performance, both the C43 and F30 340i would not even be great track cars. All 3 of these cars are intended to be daily drivers that offer more fun than the average luxury sedan, and are not designed to be track monsters. For that money for track use I would just get a mustang GT350/GT PP2/Camaro SS 1LE/M2 which come in manuals. I don't get their obsession with the pursuit of pure performance in this segment, they're not M/pure AMG cars that are track-bred.

Cars.com did a review of the new 3 Series, and they mentioned the G70 a good deal. If you're not interested in the 3 Series at all, then it's probably not worth watching just for the G70 mentions. But the short of it is that they definitely liked the steering wheel road feel of the G70 more and they thought the handling in the G70 was a bit better.

This is pretty cool...and on the summer tires (I think).

Funny how yesterday we discussed Genesis doing something in CA to promote the car. Lots of negativity and bitching.

Well here you go folks. Zero CO dealers...yet Genesis is doing a snow event.

They weren't using the PS4 there as far as I can tell. You can tell by the thread pattern.

Yeah...saw that. That’s why I kinda doubted the caption they displayed.

Yes! California Beach Day would be a great idea! Park some G70s by the beach with some surfboards!

By the way, I scan Twitter once in a while for "G70" just to see if there's any info there (you can tell I have too much time on my hands.)

The other day came across this post from someone in California -- Westminster, in Orange County, that's an hour south of LA -- showing off "That new car feeling". No indication of how he got it, but if you scan his Twitter (if you also have too much time on your hands) you could guess that this person probably works for Hyundai/Genesis. (Business trip to South Korea mentioned... many retweets of Hyundai posts... Also Hyundai US HQ seems to be in Orange County.)

He is an attorney for Hyundai.

"Between grand theft and a legal fee, there only stands a law degree." :roflmao:

Surprised he would get the base 2.0T model as indicated by the headlights. If you are going to pull strings to get the car early in CA, why not get at least the elite trim in either engine options? Just seems bizarre to me that a lawyer for a major car company in CA would settle for a base model. Still a good car with more features than the competition in the same price.

I guess there was no swallowing ;)

Really, you have no idea what the deal is. Maybe he did not even buy it. Could be a company car and that is what they give to certain employees.

Or he is not a car guy and does not want the fancy stuff that most of us here want.

Wonder if that means we could go to HQ and request a test drive.

Question: is this Mallorca blue? Or is this another color not available in the US? (Video is shot in South Korea.).

Dirty Mallorca is what that is. :p Actually may just be a light fliter on the camera or post-processing.
