  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis GV70 Reviews

Interesting review. His review agrees with what I’ve being saying: on an OVERALL basis, it beats almost all of its rivals.
Nice review, nice to see the suede inserts from a different angle (Canadian 2.5 Prestige has suede seats). Surprised he didn't mention the seat extension. I find his gesturing and twitching annoying though.

Does anyone know what he's standing behind when he does his auction site commercial?

Thanks.

I did a 100 mile roundtrip freeway trip yesterday and got 28.4 on the computer. Speeds were 60-80 varied with traffic. It was also 107 degree's which doesn't help. I'm ok with that. As I have said this is a 20 MPG vehicle with the bigger V6. Probably 22 MPG with the 4 popper. I knew this going in so not surprised. I'm not interested in plugging in my car.
This is pretty close to what I’m getting. The most I’ve gotten is 31.9 MPG on a 45 mile trip.

I think it's an Infinity QX60.

Thank you both. Looked nice, and looks nice, but too big for us I think.

Here is another random 70 review. Not sure of this is Canadian or not. Seem's USA but the Nav has that feature that we don't get. Another bizarrely timed review as Genesis did no real cohesive launch of what should be their most important vehicle. I was in the music industry and had we launched new albums this way back in the day I would have been fired. I hope they make it.

My guess is that now that Genesis is shifting their whole brand image to EV's, they want to donwplay their ICE vehicles. The G70 refresh wasn't given any wide-ranging press launch either.

Guessing savagegeese review will be out soon. Jack and his Instagram had pictures of the gv70

With the "chip shortage" and general limited availability, I wonder if they are not marketing as much because what they have will sell. I have seen ads on TV for models and makes that are not at popular. I have seen ads for 2021 models too.

Why spend millions in advertising to sell cars you can't make fast enough? My guess is the GV70 is selling at a pace equal to or greater then the production. Again why waste money in advertising?

Agreed. My guess is they are doing exactly what they had planned to do.

Never said spend millions. 90% of car advertising is almost free on-line. There was no good reason they couldn't have gotten a handful of these out to the key on-line reviewers here in the US. They did in other markets months ago now. They have cars to sell out there and they are selling them chip shortage or not. Hearing guys like Demuro say he didn't know it was out or Redline saying cars are just now reaching dealerships ( last week) when mine's almost due for it's first service is just nuts. This is suppose to be the most important vehicle in their line up... EV madness or not.

Dealership experience we’re all missing in the US! Take about class!
Gotta say - the Santa Monica, CA Genesis location (1st standalone dealership that I am aware of...) feels similar. Less tech and display but still feels classy. Happy since July with my experience there.

If these so called key online reviewers didn't know it was out shame on them. It should be their job to know and everyone in this forum knew. Speaking only for myself I found out the GV70's were for sale by watching a YouTube review. I don't remember who it was maybe Throttle House but clearly if they knew it had been released why didn't the key people know? I've also seen plenty of ads for the GV70 but that probably has something to do with the history of my google browsing.

Yea. I'm calling BS on Doug Demuro. I've know about and followed the GV70 since late 2020 and I'm just a consumer. Pretty hard to believe he was unaware...

Greater demand would also make pricing worse for us

Why did she say no free maintenance?

Seriously... How could a guy who does car reviews for a living (I assume) not know about the GV70 in the months leading up to its release? Makes no sense.

Those guys are much more interested in exotics than a Hyundai
