  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis GV70 Reviews

This might be why I am not renewing my car magazine. They are gushing over all things electric like the continue to gush over the FR-86. Electric cars are not practical for everybody. They became really inpractical once the government decided to shove them down our throats.

Yeah, I don't disagree...if the Government is going to push these so hard, then why aren't they building EV charging stations? I don't have any in the town I live in and only one high-powered one in the closest city. We're so far away from being ready for these, it's laughable.

Modern ICE engines have finally developed and evolved to a point where we can now have all the horsepower we craved in the eighties, nineties, and the early part of this century, while emitting fewer, and fewer pollutants. They finally figured out how to make cars fast, lighter, fuel-efficient, and extremely safe with a very tolerable amount of emissions. And, they can more than likely squeeze a few more horsepower while lower emissions still.

And now, the government is jamming these EVs down the public throats, without first building proper infrastructure for being able to live with these beasts.

EVs are fast and quiet. That's very cool. And, I could adjust to the teething issues currently facing them, if I could purchase an EV for the same price or actually less than a comparable ICE vehicle. However, that's just not presently the case.

Until there are a reasonable amount of facilities built to support this wave of the future, manufacturers should be able to build and sell both ICE and EVs and make a gradual transition. I'm sure that was the original plan, but I don't see it happening fast or soon enough.
Do you?

No surprise in the winner...

Not every BEV; the RX and ID4 each got a huge "meh."

Motor Trend: Genesis GV70 Vs. Audi SQ5:

Hopefully this wasn’t posted yet… 🤞

MT ❤️’s the difference their Long term GV70 gets vs. other Hyundai/Kia products because of their stand alone Genesis dealer (Jealous!!! We’re still 1.5+ years away for the the Lynnwood, WA location).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
They just opened a new one here in Edmonton yesterday. It is next door to the Hyundai dealership but it looks like they share the same service bays and mechanics. It is very nice but they have obviously been very distracted during the move.

My car was there waiting for parts and I took them some after market wheels to install, asked to install mud flaps. Well, they called and said a truck backed up an accidentally drove over my factory tires and destroyed them. They put 4 new ones on...so that was okay but annoying as they had the car for 5 weeks and never mounted the wheels or did any other work while waiting for parts.

The kicker was after I got home, I went to unload my winter tires and factory rims...and they weren't there! Then I thought I better check the mudflap installation job...no mudflaps! I have never been so let down by this dealership! Not a very good experience on day two of a new shop being open!

The auto press has been incredibly harsh on the Vinfast, this is in a time and age when they generally agree that there aren't any truly horrendous models out there.

The govt (on a national level) isn't forcing anyone to buy BEVs, but they are dangling a carrot to both consumers and automakers, b/c that is what's necessary to make the US one of the centers of BEV manufacturing.

We're already significantly behind China in that respects with Chinese automotive exports booming to places like Europe, Australia, etc.

European automakers are very concerned about lower cost Chinese BEV imports into Europe.

Most Toyota and Lexus dealerships in Canada share service bays, there are even a few in the US that do so.

A very nice review and I agree that the GV70e is the best electric vehicle out there. I also agree with his criticism of the charging network. So far I have primarily been charging at home and my Grizzl-E charger works great. Today tho, I thought I would try out the Chevron Journie app again. The first time I used it a few months ago it worked fine and they were offering free introductory charging. But today, for the 2nd time, I hooked up the charge cable and started the charging process. But the meter indicated that the electricity was barely trickling in. There were 2 other vehicles also charging. There is provision for up to 4 vehicles to charge at a time. So I went inside and talked to the attendant. He said that that is normal. Perhaps if there are no other vehicles charging and you are the first one there, it will charge quicker. What's with that?
I hope when we can access the Tesla super-charger network, that it will work better.

I think I saw yesterday or day before an article with new JDPower ranking of buying experience and Genesis ranked dead last. Not surprised based on my own. It was excellent until my car was ordered then comms fell off a cliff and they outright lied on a couple of things...in writing. I guess not surprising given that the group that owns my local dealership has a rep for not being the best and using old style shady sales tactics. So far though, after just one yr, service has been good.

I saw that too...the "dealership experience" was dead last...I think it was the year before too if I remember right. The initial quality rating for Genesis is second (behind Lexus) and the product satisfaction rating was number one or two over the last couple of years. It's pretty clear where the problem is!
