Genesis letters on rear deck lid...

Does any know/have taken the"GENSIS" letters off trunk lid? Are they strictly adhesive mounted or is there a mounting hole(s)?

My thoughts were just the KD Genesis (already installed), and no other badging on the trunklid. Leaves some mystique when you blow off any number of more expensive cars.

I am 99% sure there are no holes; it is installed at the Factory with an alignment template.

I'll give the"genesis" letter removal a try tomorrow and report back. Air bag emblem went on nice. Just realized I have an extra trunk and the hood emblem now...any interest at $10 plus postage? The wheel centers will have to wait for new sneakers to be installed, I don't believe they can be removed without access to back of rim...if I 'm mistaken, someone let me know. Has anyone seen a smallish " GENESIS" plate; similar to airbag piece that would locate on piece of brightwork on hood just above the grill vertical piece? SWMBO did not like wing on hood...I think her comment was "garish"....no accounting for taste.

Other people have taken them off and posted pics on this forum, so I presume there are no holes.

I took my letters off. There are no holes. They were easier to take off than was the Hyundai logo. I don't miss them at all.

Use waxed dental floss. Goes much quicker. No holes. Good wax after

Once I put the KDM wing on the rear I didn't feel the trunk needed to say "Genesis" twice, so I took off the OEM. Just stick on, no holes. EDIT - just used a heat gun and the letters peel off without using fishing line or dental floss.

Used 30 pound monofilament fishing line, cleaned with goo gone , followed by Meguiars micro finish, then rubbing alcohol and installed , followed that with a double" Level" vodka rocks
