If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Meet Pics

Huddleston didn't have time for Rudy's this time, but I sure dropped in for a bite after he had to leave (yep, BBQ at 10:00am in the morning, because, that's just the way I roll, reminiscent of my bachelor days!!)

I don't know if I pointed this out explicitly or not, but Huddleston's car looks fantastic. I'll be honest in the pictures I thought it looked good, but I had reservations about the wheels because in the Houston area anyway the blackout wheels on a white-car are a bit too common (the killer for me was when I saw a white Chrysler 200 with blackout wheels). Huddleston's wheels however aren't black, they're more of a graphite- and they look fantastic. I am kind of envious of his wheels, though if I were to go in that direction, I'd go with something with a hint of bronze/gold.

I picked up my white 5.0 a couple of days ago, and not regretting it one bit. It wasn't my first choice, but it was a demo model that I couldn't pass up. Now I'm just trying to decide if I want to try to change the rear badge myself.

Interesting how rarely I'm seeing these on the street. Of course I got the earlier model early on and it too a few years and now they're all over.

Thanks Sean! I think a dark bronze would look great on the car. Mine are a matte gunmetal finish that sometimes appear darker in pictures. The concave look goes a long way with these cars.

I enjoy that I don't see myself coming and going frequently. They certainly are good looking cars though and get plenty of looks.

Absolutely!!

On a tangent, if I'm honest, Montecito Blue with an Ivory Interior was one of my top color choices. But once I saw the white in person with the black-out roof, combined with how generally more challenging it is to find the 5.0 Ultimate in Montecito blue, it led me to the white.

I had to wait about 3 months before mine showed up and it was still 100 miles away. Had it shipped up from a dealer in Miami. Worth the wait but that wait sure was tough as I was ready to buy.

I work next door to my dealer and would visit them a lot on my lunch hour. They had one Montecito Blue in the showroom as well as a Black one. The Montecito Blue was a V6 and the Black one was a V8. Both had the Beige interior and both looked awesome.

They also had a Parisan Gray which was my second color of choice but was also a V6. I wanted the V8 Ultimate with out a doubt and if a Parisan Gray V8 Ultimate had of shown up before mine did in Miami, I was ready to pull the trigger. So glad I waited.

You've got to be especially happy now that they're discontinuing the color.

Hey dleather,

My dealer in San Diego ( Carlsbad Hyundai) installed the badge for only $50. It was worth not having to buy fishing line, blue painters tape, and find an extension cord for the hair dryer. I did buy the badge here from the forum though.

Dental floss works great also.

whaaaaaaat?!

Yup, it's not available for 2016 after their leftover production supply runs out. This means you're going to have a very rare car :-).

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying a Genesis in 2016 and I live in Texas. The photos of those white cars are great but I noticed the front license plate is sort of stuck on the grill. In Texas we have to have a front plate but is there some way of mounting it other than on the grill itself? I have not examined the front of the Genesis in this regard and it may be the only way to attach it. I just don't like the looks of it. BTW, the best Rudy's in the state is located on 323 in Tyler, Tx. It is worth the trip from anywhere!!

Some guys have taken the plate holder, flipped it over vertically (so the top is on the bottom) and then mounted it into the 2 lower holes on the grille. Drops the whole thing about 3 or 4 inches and looks considerably better. I have done a "test fit" with it on my car - and will probably move it there once I get some plastic "plugs" to fill the upper holes on my grille now.

This move keeps it on the grille - but the lowering helps the aesthetics a fair amount and gets it "out of the middle".

Another option is to put a tow-hook plate holder on (the round knock-out on the front bumper under the right headlight). That gets it off the grille - but then makes the car look un-balanced. Personally - lowering it looks best to me - if you can't get away with deleting it completely.

Thanks, I think I know what you mean and it should make it look better. "Lowering" is probably the best way to go.

Found the pic in another thread:
