  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking for a stock set of rims that I can put snow tires on. Or a set of custom rims, and I can just put snows on my OEM rims

Not sure what I'd ask, but you're free to make me an offer for the set of 18"ers on my V8. :-) (They have the proper wing center caps and less than 4k miles.) I've been thinking about going with something aftermarket...

Where would they have to be shipped from? Tires also (Dunlops)?
After the prices Im getting to trade my car in, I think I will just correct the issues that bother me and keep it.

What kind of trade in prices are you getting? (curious)

You gotta love the Cabernet Red..best color!

I would trade my car in only for a V8, cabernet red with beige interior. I have a V6, cabernet red, with Tech package. I only ask about the trade in amounts so I have an idea how fast the value of my car is dropping. I like to not be upside down.

Thanks!

Best price I have gotton was almost $23K. My car is spotless with 15K miles. Curious why you would trade the 3.8 for the V8? 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are exactly the same between the two. Only advantage is flat out top speed.

Here it is from Car and Driver.

The stats alone is what made me settle for a V6 in the first place. The V8 I test drove had a much better feel to it. While my car gets me where I want to go...but the feel of low end torque makes it more fun to drive.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Have you considered selling the car private party?

I might do that. ( I normally do)Weather around here is horrible and I just had rotator cuff surgery last Friday, so I cant clean it up real good to make it ready for sale. Was looking for the easy way out.
Im still on the fence on getting rid of the Genesis. It sucks in snow, mileage is not too good, Keep having issues with the stereo, and I get that knocking on initial start up due to oil drain back. Just little things that eat at me.

North Carolina. Tires also. (Wonderful Dunlops)

Sent you PM

Speaking from experience, don't forget about the tire pressure monitors for each wheel! Tough to buy a set of wheels where the TPM's have been removed! Been there, done that! ;)

Can get TPM's new off Ebay for $100.

I have the Original 18" Rims (no tires). I'll let them go cheap. I live near Orlando so let me know if you have any interest.

Been observing all the Genesis forums for a few months, but now that I've finally got one it was time to join. Most all searches led back to this site and I've found a great deal of very useful info.

Good idea using stock rims to have a set of snows set up and ready to go. I was about to pull the trigger on a set from an online vendor, but I just don't like the look of the rims offered in the packages.

If anyone else has a set of genesis sedan rims--17 or 18" let me know. Really don't want tires as I'll likely put something other than Dunlops on when they need to be replaced--the extra set of rims will be for dedicated snow tires.

At the risk of stating the obvious, have you looked on ebay? I got a set of Genesis OEM 17's last May for less than $100 each and they were virtually new. Often less-than-spectacular wheels (those missing the bling of the large-diameter ones) are taken off new cars and end up on ebay. The public has a short memory so once the memory this year's harsh winter has receded, early summer could be a great time to find cheap wheels for snow tires.

I've looked there several times, but recently there are only individual wheels or chromed ones. I'm not really into that kind of car jewelery. But thanks for the tip, I'll keep looking as the weather warms up and maybe between the exposure here and looking there I'll be ready for next winter. Just hope we don't get any more snow here in MA before this unbearable season ends. We just got our Genesis middle of February and it hasn't been too bad in light snow but we haven't had to deal with the heavy stuff.

I'm also looking for 2 stock wheels. Just the wheels. Let me know if anyone's interested in selling their wheels.
