  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I am new here,
I would like to know what it is different with engine 3.8 of Genesis and Hyundai Azera v6 3.8 engine.

I read in another Forum, Head seem to be the same...

IN specific I need to know if camshaft from genesis engine fit to azera engine, both 3.8 obviously...

I have a 2006 Azera engine and I would like to try this upgrade, trying to find better perfomance...

same engine as far as I can see in spec sheets, just different architecture such as:
Genny- different suspension, RWD.
Azera- different suspension, FWD.

I believe the US BASED 2012 Azera comes with 3.3L GDI engine vs. the 3.8L GDI in the GENESIS V6

That is correct... the new Azera only comes with the 3.3L V6. They dropped the 3.8L from the old model.

Azera 3.3L V6:

Type: Dual-CVVT (Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing) DOHC V6
Materials: Aluminum block / aluminum cylinder heads
Displacement: 3.3 Liters / 3,342
Horsepower: 293 @ 6,400 rpm
Torque: 255 lb-ft @ 5,200 rpm
Bore & Stroke: 92.0 × 83.8
Valves per cylinder: 4
Compression Ratio: 11.5:1

Genesis 3.8L V6:

Type: Dual DOHC 24-valve V6 with CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing)
Materials: Aluminum block / aluminum cylinder heads
Displacement: 3.8 liters / 3,778 cc
Horsepower: 333 @ 6,400 rpm
Torque: 291 lb-ft @ 5,100 rpm
Bore & Stroke: 96.0 mm x 87.0 mm
Valves per cylinder: 4
Compression Ratio: 11.5:1

Thanks For All this Info.. I will try Genesis Camshaft in the Azera Engine, As far as I Can...

I need to know if this works I want to upgrade my cams on my 06 Azera Limited 3.8 and so far I've done a true cold air intake with abs and it's very nice since it's smooth and polished and I've done a third cat delete plus resonator and mufflers, coilovers and stickier tires... Oh and a pedal commander but I'm still missing power... I found a volo vp15 chip that downloads a tune and adjusts af ratios..... Please let me know what you did.
