If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Genesis Wing Logo Steering emblem is finally out.. Check it out!

Can you please take a pic w/ the emblem installed? I would like to see how far it sticks out.

THANKS! :)

Hey VaiFan, please let us know when you get it and how it easy or not it is/was to install it. I also have a Blck/Sddl w/Tech and have the "Wing" on trunk, 18" hubcabs, tints, White LED on license plate, and I think this would be the "crowning" thing for my baby to look HOT!

KDMGuy: Once installed the "Wing" on the steering wheel, does it stick out much? Does it look crappy and cheap? Or, it looks pretty presentable?

Thank you again for letting us know about the product and your honesty.

My guess it that the wings on top of the H will look like crap - something my 8yr old would do at school. And I'm not sure a picture would lend itself to show the craftmanship of one stick stuck on top of the other. What I would want is the recessed look. Can the mold for the wing be changed to take on the same shape so that it can recess into the H's grooves?

well since i already order & installed (might i add with no problems at all) the airbag unit i must say that , that badge is nice but im very happy having the wing emblem on my steering wheel instead of a round badge with the wing emblem in it, you see u should take some time & really think about will this give my $40,000 car a cheesy look , in other words dont lesson the vaule of your ride just for $15.99 , but if u must then enjoy !!!

I have to agree with you. The airbag replacement is much classier looking and gives a high-end look.

I won't say much.
I personally think it looks even better in person, and it won't stick out like someone mentioned. If this emblem looked bad, we wouldn't even have bought them and kept them in stock in a first place.

Yet again, you have 3 choices.
1. stay with your H emblem
2. spend $250-300 for airbag replacement + labor
3. $18 Wing badge

I will be posting more pictures soon, and please whoever bought this set leave feedbacks, installation pictures here.
Thanks

It will be interesting to see the pictures, and I'm keeping my mind open to the option and actually hope it looks nice.
I personally thing spending less than 1% of my vehicle purchase price on a $250 airbag is not a big deal to get the right look, but if a $18 logo looks better or just as good I'm open to that too. I'm just skeptical.

Check out my pics & think twice about that stick on emblem

In case you guys missed a picture this is how much it will stick out.

Basically it sticks on the stock H emblem's top surface and it's super thin.. so it sticks out just much as the stock.. stock H emblem stickout already in a first place.

Thanks

Ya know, it really doesn't look bad at all and much better than I thought! I still don't think it looks nearly as nice as the airbag replacement emblem, but then again this is 10% of the cost and as always, you get what you pay for. It will all boil down to personal taste. It would certainly be a good interim update and I can see other uses for the emblems as well.

Check out my pics & think twice about that stick on emblem

To each their own. If I were you I would have thought twice about those stick on chrome door pillars. ;)

Personally I like the Hyundai insignia on the steering wheel and the rear of the car. I am kind of embarrassed to have such a luxury car, and the Hyundai nameplate softens the perception. I am happy driving such a nice car, and don’t care about impressing others.

Like John Malloy said in his book "Dress for Success":

"Men who wear silk shirts don't get good raises because their boss thinks they must not need the money." (paraphrased)

But I can see that some people need a prestige car and would want to have them replaced.

That makes sense, the thing about the logo being an issue if the airbag went off. I was wondering about that myself. :)

If the airbag goes off then you get to proudly display the winged logo on your forehead!
Permanently!

If my glasses don't mess up my face in an accident I'm not worried about a little emblem that weighs about as much as a nickel.

I guess the question should be asked, if the airbag deploys, does the 'shell' rupture in the middle, more towards the top, bottom? This may clear some of the 'wing flying in your face', if the airbag was to deploy.

KDMguy: Aren't you at the least concerned if people buy this replacement and unfortunately something happens in an accident that causes the airbag to deploy. Or are you confident enough to sell these knowing that it won't be an issue?

You said this:

1. stay with your H emblem
2. spend $250-300 for airbag replacement + labor
3. $18 Wing badge

Although true, you're not really convincing or confident that something won't happen. I don't know.... but I wouldn't put a price tag on safety. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, just clearing up some smoke.

Thanks.

My bet is that the "H" logo is embedded on the plastic of the airbag cover so it won't go flying off when the airbag explodes. That's why it is hard to get off -- which is a good thing. I took notice of my other cars and none have a logo which was simply glued on... My instincts tell me that it is unlikely that this sticker emblem would do a lot of additonal physical harm in a frontal collision though who knows??

If I'm not mistaken the airbag cover does not fly off when the airbag deploys. I believe the cover is hinged and it swings out of the way when the airbag is deployed.

I have one of those personality types that rides motorcycles fast and takes lots of riskes, therefore, I'm living dangerously and slapping that wing on my cover!
Devil be damned!

I ordered one. For $18 I'll give it a try. If I don't like it I'll take it off. No big deal either way.
