This is just a little update that I have ordered the Magnaflow cat-back exhaust for my 3.8 Genny sedan. Although the system is targeted at 4.6 V8 models, it's my belief and the belief of my exhaust guy that this should pretty much bolt up the same and if not, he can certainly make any necessary mods required.
I don't think anyone else has yet to install this system on their 3.8 yet so that's why I wanted to let everyone with a 3.8 know that I will provide more information once I've gone through the process. I was able to get the exhaust for $660 with free shipping and it will be here this Saturday. I hope to provide any info on potential problems and what not should their be any. Hopefully I can also upload some video at some point as well.
On a side note, I noticed that there have been at least a couple of people who have purchased the sytem for their 4.6's and have decided to remove them because they felt they were too loud and others who have simply refrained from purchasing it for the same reason. After talking to my exhaust guy, he told me that Magnaflow makes a muffler with a built-in X-pipe in it. The Magnaflow cat-back includes a true X-pipe as part of the configuration to improve the exhaust flow and performance of the system. He told me that if the exhaust is too loud for my taste, he could replace the X-pipe with this X-pipe muffler which will reduce the overall loudness and droning while still providing the performance that an X-pipe provides. He's installed the muffler on other cars and says it works great. So if this has been an issue for anyone or has kept someone from making the purchase, you may want to look into this.
