  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm getting ready to buy a 2011 4.6 Genesis Sedan which has the Premium & Tech packages but have run into what I think might be a snag. While reading thru the forums here in preparation to buy I have come across some posts which seem to suggest that if I buy something with the Tech package then BT audio streaming won't work which seems really counter-intuitive. I spend about 99% of the time in my current car listening to a third-party podcast app or Spotify via BT streaming so not having that available would be kind of a pain for me. However, I really want the adaptive cruise control and it seems that the Tech package is the only way to get that… plus my understanding is that all 2011 4.6 Genesis Sedans come with the Premium & Tech packages by default.

Just wondering if the posts I've read about BT streaming with the tech package are correct or if I'm missing something.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks for the great forums… I look forward to spending a lot of time here.

Cheers!

Unfortunately, BT won't stream with the car you want.

Not in your 4.6 Tech.. The 3.8 premium received BT streaming IIRC - and the new 2013's equipped with Blue Link.

Thanks for all the replies and thank you for the monoprice link. I was actually looking around for something like that myself. Seems very weird to me that adding the tech package actually deletes BT streaming but I'm glad to know that there is a cheap and easy fix to enable it.

Thanks again.

Cheers!

Intrigued! This link takes me to the Monoprice website but which item is a cheap and easy fix? Thanks.

I see it’s an old post, but I still would like to know what they did

There is a thread from 10/18 on this subject. (I'm brand new to this forum-although I'm the original owner of my 2011 Genesis-and I don't know how link a thread so you'll have to do a search.) A few devices are recommended. I am on the hunt for a solution! 50k miles. Love it. I've limped along with an iPod and XM radio to this point. Don't want to get rid of my beloved car for bluetooth audio.

Hi, I used the internet time machine to find a photo of the product in the link that the guy provided. It was a bluetooth receiver. Indeed I'm using one of those right now (through my aux jack) and it's working perfectly fine. I didn't find a solution how to stream my music without that adapter but I hope i'll find a way soon.

my car is a Genesis 2009 4.6.
