  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Got a 3.5 Sport Prestige in the garage..!

Gas prices have spiked all around the world; has little to do with the new admin.

Correcting erroneous statements or asking to refrain from such statements is not censorship.

Censorship is what Republican politicians in Texas have done by forcing a museum of Texan history to disinvite the author of a book which doesn't whitewash/mythologize the Alamo.

And then there's the whole canceling thing (which is different from bearing responsibility for one's actions or words) as what has happened to Liz Cheney and is happening to all the Republicans, including state officials, who had the gall of speaking the truth/doing their job.
Ah, I see, I guess there is no anti politics policy. Let the senile reign and the terrorists of BLM control our streets.
The fuel increase is 100 percent caused by the admin. We were energy independent before the senile fool came in. Not sure why you would like about facts that are easily verifiable.
As far as censorship, you mean how colleges censor any speaker who is not woke? How facebook and twitter censored the china virus lab origin, or the hunter laptop story that have both been proven true.
Keep supporting fools who want anarchy in the streets.

Well, I personally didn't come here to read about anyone's political beliefs or share my own. Someone who agrees with the right will not sway someone who agrees with the left, and vice versa. So can we just leave people to their political leanings and focus on what we like and don't like about the GV70? That's way more enjoyable (and useful).

Anyway... left or right politics aside, I've gotten a lot of good info from all of you, and I appreciate you all for that. I test drove a 3.5T and loved it, but I'm holding out for the 2.5T because 1) I don't need all that power (that's a speeding ticket waiting to happen!), and 2) I actually LOVE the bright chrome accents on the lower 2.5T trims. That will look amazing with the Savile Silver exterior, which is my pick.

Pretty much my thoughts about the 2.5 as I have one coming soon I hope. I have put in for silver with, get this, burgundy leather. Have not seen this interior in person but photos have it looking good in my opinion (wife actually chose interior, I picked exterior). Guess if I am too disappointed with it when it comes in I can pass. Driving my Tacoma since turning in a leased X3 in April so really anxiously awaiting this car. Did not like leasing so plan to purchase this one.

For me, I absolutely didn't want black. I liked the idea of the burgundy, but it looked almost as dark as the black in some pictures, then more like a chocolate brown in others. I just couldn't get a good gauge on it. I'm leaning toward the Havana Brown interior. Haven't seen it in person, but I love how it looks in pictures.

Another good choice I think.

Looks more of a medium brown in sunlight with a hint of burgundy to me. My dad had a G80 in dark brown and it’s definitely lighter than that color. It really seems to complement the styling of the GV70. It’s the color I am leaning towards.

Oh sorry, I meant the burgundy interior. I test drove a 2.5 in burgundy. Lovely color. Seems to change with the light. Sometimes it looks more purple, sometimes a little brown, but mostly a wine-like color.

Oh yeah, I’m between beige and burgundy interior. Not a big fan of all black leather interiors. The really weird one is the green leather with blue upper dash you can get on some GV70 paint colors. Looks like it could be pretty nice based on the Asian Petrolhead video I saw.

I just took delivery of a Uyuni White with Ultramarine Blue 3.5 Sport Prestige, fully loaded. Two other local dealerships (I’m in Orange County, CA) had $5000 markups on all their GV70’s. I went to a third dealership the next county over and they were not marking up their cars. There was no negotiating on the MSRP (same thing with the other two dealerships), but they also gave me $500 more for my trade-in than the other two.
Curious of your dealership... I had no markup, a little under MSRP... plus a good extra on my trade at Genesis Santa Monica. Tried contacting many locations through LA/OC and this was my best experience even though I hate hitting the 405 to Santa Monica. :) Worth the trip.

Are the other dealers Hyundai dealers with small GV70 inventories? Because the Santa Monica Genesis dealer has 47 (mostly V6) GV70’s in stock according to the website. That may be why they aren’t marking up. They were telling me sticker “but we don’t mark up.” I contacted a broker my neighbor uses and he said $1k off sticker was the best they would do on a 2.5T. I’m not in a big hurry so I’m willing to wait to get more discount off MSRP. My dad got $3700 off his G80 in January in the Chicago area with no haggling (the discount was listed on the dealer’s website and they honored it.) I read on one of the forums that some markets are already starting to discount the GV70. And it sounds like we’re about to have a bunch of 2.5T’s hitting our shores. So I think it’s only a matter of time before prices moderate.

Santa Monica Genesis isn't marking up - they are a new dealership for the chain of LACarGuy - it's a standalone dealership so there are no Hyundai there. I just purchased Monday and Scott Tojo and Dane McConnaughy were my sales/finance guys and it was a smooth transaction. This is apparently the first standalone Genesis dealership in the US (I haven't confirmed....) but I looked all over LA/OC and this was the best experience. The one in South Bay where I live is being built so for now, is at a Hyundai location and the two visits I made were "meh".

10/10 recommend Santa Monica Genesis. (and I hate going to Santa Monica....)

The dealer experience is likely going to be an issue for many of the existing luxury car buyers Genesis is trying to attract.

I visited a Hyundai/Genesis dealer in the DC metro area yesterday and got a HUGE case of the heebie Jeebies. If I decide to buy, I will try another dealership and hope for a better vibe.

This is not meant to sound snobby but the analogy I would use is that it would be like trying to buy a Rolex at Dollar General. At least with the Rolex though, there doesn't have to be a continuing relationship with the retailer. Different story when you consider maintaining a vehicle. I guess that's why Genesis offers valet service but still...

I’ll have to go look for that video. I’m curious to see what that green interior looks like in real life.

My wife and I picked the burgundy interior thinking it might look good with silver exterior. Have had light beige interiors before and while they are nice, we wanted something different this time. Had no real problem keeping those clean, but a little darker interior should be even easier.

I purchased mine from Cardinale Genesis in Corona. They had a surprisingly large selection of GV70s on the lot. They didn’t have a markup, but they were not willing to negotiate on the MSRP either. I checked out Genesis of Irvine and they had a $5000 markup on all GV70s….a huge deal-breaker for me.

I hope you’re enjoy your new ride. I love mine so far.

What dealer in Utah? I am considering buying one from the Sandy dealer. Can I trust them?

This isn't politics, but the cold hard facts.

Fuel prices have been up all around the world (that's what happens after much of the world was in a lock down in 2020).

We never were oil independent, but gradually did decrease the % of oil imports due to increased production.

But as long as there is any % imported, the price of oil will reflect world demand; actually, after the ban on oil exports was lifted, whether there are any oil imports doesn't matter as domestic oil producers just sell on the world market.

And even before the ban on oil exports got lifted, big oil would get around that by exporting refined fuels (which was the #1 US export).

Big oil has many tricks up its sleeves to push up gas prices here.

One is to buy up smaller refining operations, only to turn around and shut them down.

That's why the West Coast pretty much every year has to deal with a spike in prices around springtime.

There are only 2 refineries supply the region and they both shut down production around the same time to do "maintenance" (which oddly, never seems to prevent those fires which cause the price of gas in the region to sky-rocket).

And let us all know when BLM invaded and ransacked the US Capitol.
