Is that really any worse than a POS red Hyundai Accent?
Sweet ride! LOL. At least it looks clean!
It could be worse, I had a filthy Sonata Hybrid loaner the other day while the dealer was installing a bumper protector film applique and mud guards onto my wife's Genesis. It looked like a dust bunny had exploded inside and I was afraid to touch anything for fear of unleashing a thick cloud of dust. The suspension on those things is pretty terrible... I felt like I was going down the road on a pogo stick...
Then I got an even more filthy Audi A8L loaner while my Audi was in for replacement of some malfunctioning interior bits. There was a sticky residue all over the center console and gauge cluster, food crumbs on top of the steering column, deodorant stains on the front seatbacks, pooled liquid stains on the back seat cushions, and sticky fingerprint smudges all over the navigation screen and door panels.
Seriously, don't dealers clean their loaners after they're returned!?!?
And, conversely, I don't understand how customers feel that it is acceptable to mess up the loaner vehicles so badly.
Really? Do you own an Accent? Do you own a Genesis? Have you ever owned a Hyundai?Yes.
Great car compared to the Dodge Caliber my Lexus dealer gave me for a loaner a couple of years ago (to be fair , it was a rental - dealership was out of Lexus loaners).
In any case, worst car I'd ever driven.

Funny that the dealer is an Acura/Hyundai dealer (bought both cars from them). The only time I needed a loaner from the Hyundai side, I was put into a dirty Sonata. It only had 2000 miles, but looked like 20,000.
I heard they put Equus owners into Genesis loaners. But Genesis owners? Meh.
Rental companies are not incented to rent cars to customers that can't stand to drive them. They are in the business of satisfying customer demand and getting repeat business. They also appreciate reliable cars, since they get very heavy use.Again w/ your baseless conditions (have you ever owned the current Accent?).
The Accent is a pretty nice sub-compact as sub-compacts go these days (tho, I'd rather go w/ the Rio or Sonic or maybe wait for the new Mazda2).
The Yaris is a PoC which is why Toyota lags way behind in sales in the subcompact segment even w/ over 50% of Yaris sales going to rental fleet.

Based on listings a used Genesis cars for sale, a very large percentage of them are former rentals, so lets not talk out of both sides of our mouth.
fwiw
OP - good luck getting your ride back.
Coming from a Yaris rental, it really makes this car feel soooo nice!![]()
