  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those of you who've been holding out for a great deal on a 2010, your time has come. Right now you can get a new Genesis through Costco for approx. $4k off sticker once you factor in all the discounts/rebates/cash back offers.

Taken from: http://forums.thecarlounge.com/zerothread?id=4861537

Current offer is:
• Invoice minus 3% of MSRP
• Less current consumer rebates ($1500 valued owner or competitive owner)
• Less $250 bonus
• $500 Costco cash card

So, if I did the math correctly, you're looking at an even $29k + TTL for a base Genesis 3.8, not counting the $500.
($30,940 - $990 - $1500 - $250 + $800 destination)

There are similar deals on the Veracruz — check out:

Great deal! I want the 2010 MY. :(

Dan

The dealerships in my area all have a "Everyone gets the same Price" policy. The Price is on the Windshield of the car and it seems very close to the Costco Deal.

Is this normal; or unusual in the Minneapolis area?

Are they still honoring the competitive owner rebate?

Only certain regions have that available. It may be worthwhile to go to a neighboring region just for that (enter zip codes into hyundaiusa.com to find where it is applicable)

I am not eligible(I think) for the competitive rebate. Hopefully 2011 comes out quick so I can pick up a 2010 for cheap and hopefully 0%APR because I will have to do payments for this. A do you guys know how you sign up for Hyundaicircle.com? It asks for a PIN number and I have no idea how to get 1.

Thanks for posting this - bought a v8 tonight after reading about the deal here a few days ago!
So far, one good drive!

George

Welcome to the forum! :) :welcome:
You'll get a lot of useful information here. What color combo did you get? Is it tech?
Enjoy your new ride!

Dan

I got the platinum color with the tech package.
Can anyone tell me how to turn off the nav/info screen entirely?
Or does it have to be 'on' all the time.
sometimes at night i like the cabin dark when I drive.

I've been following this forum forever - back before the car was ever released!
It has been a great help! Thanks all!

The non-tech has a button on the console just below marked "Display" or an abbreviation of it. When you push it the display turns off. I turn it off all the time when driving at night because the blue light of the display is an annoying distraction. Is there something like that for the tech?

No such button....would be nice if they added one though. I would guess that you have to go in the Menu section and there should be an option to turn the screen off. Hopefully one of the many tech owners will chime in, but if not you might want to check your owners manual...or just create a separate thread. :)

Don't recall exactly where it is but the settings to turn off the screen can be accessed with the DIS .......it may be in the phone/info section

The display button is right below the screen in the non-tech (couldn't find a picture online.) Right about where the clock is, if I recall (not in the car right now.)

I like the idea of a single button you can press to turn off the display vs. hunting through a menu to turn it off and on.

I agree completely Disaster. I think a dedicated on/off button for the display is a good idea (much easier than fussing with the controller).

I just wish Hyundai would upgrade their non-nav audio display. It can stay the same size, but a full color display with nicer graphics would be more fitting for a luxury sedan like the Genesis. The blue dot matrix display looks a bit low-rent.

VW GTI's non-nav radio screen for reference:

My apologies for getting off topic. :)

Agreed, but if they did, they probably would have a harder time justifying the $5000 premium for the technology package. As it is, the nontech does some pretty techie stuff, like having USB and Ipod integration.

P.S. Thanks for the pic, which shows the display button just to the left of the radio control knob.

Speaking of the knob, and getting even more off topic, do you find it too far away? It is a real reach to adjust the radio while driving, even with my apelike long arms. The steering wheel buttons only work for the presets so sometimes you have to use that knob.

I do! And I'm by no means short (6' 2"). It's a really long reach and scrolling through iPod playlists/artists/albums is a chore that for someone like myself who has a lot of music on their ipod, can take a good minute or 2 to find the album you want. They need to rectify this by at least offering the ability to quickly scroll through the list by depressing the Seek button.

Sorry to hijack the thread with my 'how to turn off the screen in a tech package genesis' question. thanks to all who responded! I did find it in the menu via the phone/info section.

I also got an email from costco telling me to call them to complete their survey to get the $500 gift card. they move it along quite quickly!

George

and hyundai promo is not on the costcoauto page any longer. that was quick...
