  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Got the call today. Vehicle allocated and should have it this month.
Pre-ordered April 9th.
But I think I'm going to cancel.
The Ionic 6 looks gangsta and reminds me of my first car, the Infiniti J30 especially the tail lights.
Will test drive before I make up my mind but seems like quite a few compromises for the Canadian model which is exacerbated by the extremely high interest rates and lack of loyalty incentives!
Did I miss something? What are the compromises for the Canadian model?

HDA2 and some of the FCA2 stuff that is part of it. And the AR Navigation.
I really want automatic lane change.
But I think the interest rate and lack of loyalty incentives is what kills it for me.
I got 2k off plus 1% when I got my G70.

You won't get the Ionic 6 before 2023 for sure. Just keep your GV60, and sell it at a profit, then put another deposit for I6.

Interest will keep going up, there's no doubt.

In my view, the Ionic 5/6 only has looks, all the touch points on these are not luxury, there's going to have 10 E-GMP EV hyundai out there.
3 will be Ionic 5
3 will be EV6
3 will be Ionic 6
Only 1 will be GV60.

I will not like to drive a trend car there's ton of people driving around.
I choose GV60.

It's the same here around my hood.
THere's tons of White Tesla 3/ Y here. (Driving by Chinese lady)
WHenever I see one, I felt like, "Damn, why people follow the mass..."
I don't like to follow the mass.

All good points. We'll see if the trade in value is acceptable or not!

Well the Ionic 5 has 20 cm more rear passenger leg room, more rear passenger head room, larger sunroof . It has HDA2. All this for significantly less money, lower finance rates. Ionic 5 also qualifies for military and loyalty rebates.

With the recent release of the Chevy Blazer EV, I'm very sway to take the RS version on AWD.
Knowing Genesis wouldn't honor the old financing rate, let's now see if the Blazer EV will arrive first or the GV60 that I order will comes first. (My estimate on GV60 is Spring 2023).
Reservation was just 100$, so it doesn't hurt.
I'm sure the GV60 is much luxury than the chevy. But looks wise, range, size of the screen, bigger trunk, RED seats!! looks promising.
I just now need to know how much it will cost from the RS + AWD+ supercruise.
The base of the RS is 63,848CAD, that means, federal and quebec incentive is not applicable. Same as the GV60.
Your thoughts?

Personally I feel it is too much Chevy and too much Blazer. A little bit in your face. I like the quiet elegance of the GV60 and previously I chose a Sorento over the ICE Blazer and I'm going to stick with the GV60. My advanced model is on the boat and coming closer!

A few people have asked about dongles that work to provide wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple Carplay. I've had the original AAWireless sourced through Indiegogo in early 2021 in use in my Optima PHEV and used together with my Samsung Note 20 Ultra. Have no experience with Apple. It has always worked great and seamlessly. Just get in the car with my phone in my pocket and I'm connected. The dash display and all my steering wheel buttons work properly. The company's support on the one occasion I used it also was great. An article I saw this morning altered me that the AAWireless product is now available directly from the manufacturer, Amazon US, and soon Amazon Canada. You can now get the AAWireless adapter for wireless Android Auto from Amazon

My vehicle is apparently on a boat atm, expected in ~4 weeks. Performance Blue/Blue ordered Feb 10.

Mine likely arriving in Vancouver (port) any day now - with arrival at dealership in MTL Aug 10-15.
I suspect it quiet around here as when people get their car, they typically drop off the forms. And the bulk of other people (unlike us) are only expecting delivery in many months :(

Some of us are quiet because of the frustration experienced by being completely in the dark. No information or updates from the dealer (Waterloo), ever, as to when (if ever) I might anticipate delivery.

It soon will be 6 months from my ordering and depositing on day 1 of orders being accepted way back on February 8th.

I expect better customer service.

Goodwill can be either positive or negative.

I fall in the second category, expecting delivery in many months!

I understand you ordered on Feb 9th, got your VIN on June 27th, car is on a boat now and should arrive in Vancouver very soon, and hit the dealership in mid-August.

Based on this, and assuming by build date of September does not change, I can probably expect my car to be at my dealer mid-november.

I have to be patient!!!

I am grateful that I jumped the queue due to someone's cancellation and got my car last week (originally expected October, but later revised to Spring 23)....but...as far as customer service goes, it's been crickets since delivery. I haven't been invited to Genesis Connect and the concierge who was supposed to set up a full run through of the features has not. Actually, there was no communication before delivery either and they rushed me out on delivery day with very little information. No one even tried to sell me the warranty.

I will say that I am really liking the car, no issues whatsoever. I would rather have bad customer service than a regret my car purchase :)

I thought they committed that it wouldn't work like that. If someone cancels and the dealer is free to sell to whoever they want, it creates a free for all where the dealer's management team could put in deposits for all of their family and friends to increase their allocation, then cancel the orders and re-sell to more local customers.

Yes, I think that is the case for the most part. The dealer told me that they had to ask GC to make the switch and that they had about 24 hours to get the switch approved or Genesis Canada would have re-deployed the car. They would ship it right out of the dealership and pay the costs to move it to another province. They aren't fooling around - although, I do have a car, sooooo??

Happy for you, of course. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

I agree the process has been really frustrating. Although my dealer has been responsive and helpful - its Genesis Canada who should be doing more to keep us up to date.

For comparison i ordered an Ioniq 5 in March - the first couple of months i had zero information, but now Hyundai sends out a monthly update with my place in line and ETA. While discouraging (ETA was pushed from spring 2023 to fall 2023) i still appreciate these updates very much.
Its a shame Genesis didnt implement this too. Would solve a lot of the frusteration.

From a logistic point of view makes sense. From a PR point of view NOT helpful LOL
