  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

when i went into the Hyundai Dealership, the first thing came in mind are those RFID-less door handles on the hyundai.
Does anyone know if Canadian Genesis has RFID smart entry?
My dad has an Hyundai that its US variant has the RFID smart entry, but Canada has only that stupid black push button (no RFID).
With the futuristic look of the pop out door handle, i really want this RFID and facial recognition.
The NYC car show will have the GV60, but I really want to know if the RFID will remain in Canada.

I looked through the entire document today. I think NLJ was right to think it was for the US only. The mentions of Canada are regarding things that US drivers may want to know if driving in Canada. There are a few spots where it refers to state rules, with no mention of provinces.
I’ve got my fingers crossed that the Canada manual will include info in IFLS.
I looked at the Canadian manuals for other Genesis models. None of them mention IFLS, though it is advertised for them on the Genesis website.

Also does the infotainment work on 5G or LTE?
My 2019 G70 works on 3G while the US 2019 was LTE.

I just got an Email from my dealer saying my pre-order will be built next month with a July delivery. My order is Performance, Hanauma Mint with blue interior.

Do you know what your rank was ?

This being a flagship model for Hyundai, I would expect it have all the bells and whistles. They could have reserved some chips to ensure the launch of this high end model to be a showcase of their technology.
I ordered on Feb 9 so anxious to get that email from my dealer.

Congratulations!! Did they give you the price?

I asked another dealership today to see if I can get an answer.
I asked if the Performance would be over or under $70k and the answer was "Somewhere around $70k".

That would be nice. A few dealerships in Ontario believe performance will be 85k as its directly competing with Model Y.

Can't see that.
First ground up EV competing against an established EV brand.
Plus the Tesla has higher range and more cargo capacity. Not to mention superior charging network.

Yeah , Gv60 would get slaghtered in that price range

No way, other the speed, the GV70 electrified would be closer to Model Y. GV60 is small. It's more like model 3 size, but slighty bit taller.

This is horrendously unprofessional of them. There is a $15K/20% spread between their guesses, someone is clearly making a wild guess. If you're the one that says it's going to be around $70K and it ends up being $10K more, what credibility do you have left?

NLJ - If the Performance comes in at ~$80K, you should contact that person and tell him/her that you'd like to buy that $70K model they referred to.

I've been in this sort of situation where people are pestering me for information ahead of an announcement. You've got to be honest and say you don't know or you do but can't share it. If you spread incorrect information, it's hard to recover.

Agree. Aside from interior and exterior styling - which are subjective - the GV60 would have a tough time competing with a Model Y. On paper, the Y has many advantages - not to mention a brand that has a lot more cache than does Genesis.

I just hope this will be a G70 vs Stinger situation where the G70 was the first ground up Genesis and was very competitive with the Stinger especially with the interest rate!

Polestar had 0.99%; not sure why its super low like that. i would think it will be 2.9% for loans.
THe GV60 is just the beginning, Genesis will probably be entirely electrified within 5-6years.

A quick looks at the Genesis site shows finance rates at 2.9 & 3.4%, and leases at 3.4 & 3.9%.

There were some early comments in the forum from someone that said that Genesis sometimes throws a little something at those that placed early orders. We'll see. I was debating about the GV60 being the first vehicle I've ever leased as I have some concerns about early obsolescence with EV tech. evolving so quickly, but even the 2.9% finance rate is too rich for my blood, so I'll likely just pay cash.

I know right up until recently Genesis offered a loyalty incentive of interest rate reduction of 1% if you previously purchased a Genesis , i assume this is still the case
