GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

I never gave my license, just got an email from my dealer that my order was in after a day. I've been given a build order rank though, so I'm not sure how that works?

Is it possible that Buck and zz are at the same dealership? The screen cap with the rank # seems a little less than fully polished. I wonder if the dealership is just making the stuff up?

Please note: Factory orders can take between 4-8 months, we currently do not have an ETA for your Genesis but will update you as soon as we do and that until we are assigned a VIN we will not have any updates regarding an arrival date of your Genesis. Same as Buck, I'm with the Edmonton dealership.

By the way, what I got a few days after placing my deposit from the dealership was:
"Here is the current estimated timeline for your pre-order. Please note: Factory orders can take between 3-6 months; I have sent in the order on 03/04/2022"

Warning for any Deposit holders check immediately that your order was in fact placed. I placed my preorder 10 minutes after receiving notice orders had opened on Feb 8.

I have spoken to my sales rep over 6 times since then asking if everything was ok, he always said order placed and ok.

I just spoke to the sales manger regarding my number in que, he checked and said he only has me down as a deposit holder NOT placing an order! He said in early March the order books were opened and the sales rep needed to contact the pre-orders, confirm colours, get a drivers license photo then place the actual order with Manager.

He did not do this so now the Manager wants to place the order today as if I just preordered today.

No wonder I did not get an email regarding Que.

I am so mad I am going to cancel. The rep said he wants to make up for his mistake he will throw in some winter floor mats!

I demanded the Manager contact Genesis Canada and try to make this right.

This was not only a sales reps mistake but a failure of the Manager to properly oversee the preorder sales process.

What a sh... experience with Genesis

Did everyone else get a call for license and order confirmation in early March?

For my case, I contacted the dealer before the launch day to show my interest for GV60. On Feb 8 they asked me about the driver license, my email and phone number to create an online account for me and I used that account to choose the trim and color of GV60 then finally made the deposit. On Feb 9 dealer contacted me by email for confirmation about color and trim. But until now I have not received any factory build rank info.

I am also with Edmonton Genesis. Never provided my drivers lic. but have received 2 emails regarding build rank(Canada). Early April email advised build rank of 42 and latest email dated May 3 indicated I had moved up one to build rank 41!

Hopefully they do follow the sequence of pre-orders.
But it is going to be most likely trim first and colour combination second.

Who is Josh? When I look up contacts at the Calgary Genesis there is no one with that name.

I’m in Calgary. I’ve exchanged several emails with my contact, who assures me that I’ll have one of the first vehicles that arrive, but has given me no specifics, and has suggested that dealers that have provided build ranks are trafficking false information.

Thanks Looney, I have been getting similar exchanges with my contact as well. Was a little worried when I started seeing people say there order was never placed.

It’s worth pointing out that since in Canada Genesis dealers are also Hyundai dealers that mainline Hyundai salespeople are able to talk to customers about Genesis orders (but aren’t supposed to do sales I believe). The GM of my dealer has been dealing with me primarily and the other two salespeople that are “Genesis” have had some holidays and on occasion I end up talking to somebody not listed on the Genesis website- they have access to basically all the same information and you shouldn’t regard that as shady/scam/not-legit/etc. No issues there.
