  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

….car is fast…if you want it…very fast actually…;-)…be careful not to loose your driving licence…
After a day of driving the GV60, I took my old car out on the highway. Now my old car seems slow.

Picked up my Mauna Red/black GV60 on Saturday. Was the first delivery for Edmonton Genesis and vehicle had actually been there for aweek +. Dream to drive but a lot to learn even after coming from a hybrid Lexus(non plug-in). Ordered Grizzl-e Level 2 charger and electrician coming Thursday to do wiring for 50 amp 14-50 plug so will get almost 10kw charging not quite GV60 max of 11kw but more than enough for the daily driving the seniors in our household do🤪
Question for those experts out there - I cannt figure out how to do split screen on the information screen(right screen). On my Lexus could do nav & variety of others split screen ie. Nav/radio or nav/battery charging, etc. If anyone an help would appreciate it. Oh by the way Edmonton Genesis said you cannt do facial recognition or finger print id. Based on info here in the group said that was not correct and sure enough we got both up and operational.😜

Congratulations! That was your car I saw then haha (I went for a test drive in Edmonton this past Friday, and it must have been your red GV60 beside the demo silver one.)

I am really excited to hear more from you guys that got your GV60s early about your experiences, quirks etc. Probably when time comes closer will schedule electrician to come see if we can do an EV charger in our garage as well.

Did have a question that's been floating in my head. Is it possible to use an adapter to charge the GV60 on Tesla chargers?

For those of you who have recieved their car... How well does the facial recognition work in the dark?

Just got off the phone with my dealer.

For the record, I placed a deposit on March 23rd for a White on Black Performance in Montreal.

My production date went from 2023 to November 2022 after some cancellations following the price announcement. This can still change. I did not ask for my rank.

He also confirmed that the "list" is maintained by Genesis Canada, not by dealer or region, and when/if a customer refuses the car, it is offered to the next in line in Canada. I assume this is before the car gets to the dealer of course.

He also told me that the price is not 100% guaranteed before I get a VIN, even if the car will be a 2023. We should receive something from Genesis Canada explaining this in the following weeks...

This is getting close to a bait and switch. I'm sure they are well in their bounds, legally, but we've moved on from having made a deposit on some theoretical vehicle at an estimated price. There are 'orders' placed for priced vehicles. A little too late to be changing key terms, IMO.

Wow 75k?good for you.

Gosh, if a used i5 is going for $75K at wholesale, that should be a strong signal as to which direction GV60 prices are headed in the future. If I were someone considering cancelling an order hoping to buy cheaper in the near term, I'd think again.

So he was eluding to prices going up? Tesla has raised their prices I could seen hyundai/kia/genesis doing the same with the demand

Yeah they could, but given how well it worked for Rivian to announce a price increase that was subject to existing reservation holders, followed by a quick retraction, and the fact that Lucid, Ford and Tesla have all raised prices for new reservations it would be pretty interesting to see how it goes….

I don't think we can assume future prices now considering how many more EV models will be in the market next year and the fear of a recession.
The only reason they are high now because of supply shortages!
Tesla has dug their grave with the Model 3 but they may not realize it for a while yet!

I just reached out to my dealer rep regarding the new interest rate hike on the financing rates, and he sent me this attachment. 3rd paragraph states pricing is not finalized until a VIN is received. The last sentence is what kills me, they can change anything at anytime. Did anyone else get this from their Genesis dealer?

I’m not surprised to see that language. Until the sales document is final, neither party is in a binding agreement. If vehicle prices plummeted between the time of order and delivery, every one of us would be looking to cancel our orders and make new ones at the lower price - I’d expect the seller to keep similar flexibility.

Having said that, if They tried to change the terms that were previously communicated, it would leave a very bad taste in my mouth, and I’d probably walk. They’ve certainly set some expectations with those that have placed deposits, and there would need to be some meaningful and unpredictable developments before I’d happily agree to an increase. Despite what the agreements may or may not include, we should be able to expect more than the legal minimum from a vehicle manufacturer.

I think that is pretty standard. If your car doesn't arrive for 6 months and interest rates jump they are certainly going to pass that along to you.
On the other hand if rates fall (and they won't) you would get a better rate than what is on offer now.

I last researched chargers about a year ago - but the one that stood out to me was the Grizzl-e
brand.

- made in canada
- super durable and able to be outside in Canadian weather
- relatively affordable

Check it out.
Thanks
