GV70 roof rack

Hi all,

Anyone had any luck finding a roof rack with cross bars that fits the GV70? We are a family of skiers and boarders and want to put a box on the roof but seems like what should be simple is next to impossible. Genesis doesn’t carry any roof racks yet nor does Thule have the fit. They say it will eventually come but we can’t wait forever. I even bought a universal and it didn’t fit well either.

Hoping someone here has had some success. My uncle thinks we can modify the Thule version off the GV80

Have a set for a Telluride not the GV70. Good value for the money, not Thule quality but they are fine as a base. Im using them for skis/boards

I actually ordered the Thule kit designed for the GV80 with shorter bars. The company/retailer called me to say if there were any fit issues, I would not be able to return it since it was not "fit tested" for the GV70. I then reached out to Thule to ask them if the 6077 kit would be acceptable for the GV80 and they said about the same thing. They are working on a GV70 kit. (even have a kit number 6116) but no timeline. So frustrating for those of us who need it now. I will admit I am not the biggest risk taker, so when the retailer told me of horror stories with people putting the wrong kit on a car and then things flying off at 80 MPH, their fear tactics worked for me and I cancelled the order. My honest opinion is that the GV80 kit probaly wil not fly off, but wanted to share this information with the group.

Sorry for super late reply, I'm using my Thule system with Thule 127cm (50") Wingbar Evos. I didn't like how it protruded so I actually tried the 108cm (43") bars but I will confirm it fits the front but will not fit on the rears; 108s are not wide enough.

@forverly I had the same reservation, I spoke with Thule a few times and got the same response. Currently, it fits really nice, super snug, no give. The rubber footing does not set perfectly but the critical clamp contacts are solid. I'm going to stay under 80mph, as you should with any roof system.

I will be interested to hear your review. I had my fisrt ski day last week and look forward to being able to put skiis in a carrier and not the back. I saw these Turtle brand. I have never heard of them, but they look good.

Definitely interested to hear your review well. Just bought my GV70 yesterday - need a roof rack ASAP, so bit the bullet on this one. I'll also report back on my experience.

The racks arrived quickly after placing the eBay order. Packaging was very good. Installation was straightforward. The quality of materials and design is very, very good. Attachment is solid and secure as is the rack itself. I'm very pleased with the product and give it my recommendation without any reservations.

I see. Can you explain a bit further what didn’t you like or how the eBay one are superior. I may switch as well. Do you think Amazon one will not hold up?
