  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Gv70 Show off your Mods to date.....

Hi. New to forum not sure I am posting in the right thread. I am a big AMG guy. Needed to buy 2 one for wife, SUV, one for me E63/S63. I contacted dealers and private sellers. Used AMG's were so overpriced. As much as $100K over market price (G63). On the Dealer sticker "Market Adjustment". OUT THEIR F'ing Minds. Finally decided wife did not need all that speed. So looked at different SUVs. Test drove GV70. Loved the look and performance. Great for the wife (and important because there will be times I may have to drive the SUV hence the reason wanting an AMG SUV😂) Got her the Mauna Red 3.5T AWD/Sport Prestige fully loaded top of the line. I continued to search for my AMG from California to Florida. Found a few (the specs I wanted). But the price. No one was budging. Long story short I fell in love with my wife's GV70 driving it for a month, I bought another (White) for me. I was looking at $100k+ for 2019s E&S63s when I got 2022 $70K out the door with great warranty, newest tech and great performance. I still got my eyes on AMGs but brand new when I can afford. GV70 is a great substitute. And the new GV60s and GV70 EVs coming out may give me another "rethink AMG" moment. I know long story. Sorry. Had to give the back story. So wife's car is still standard. Red black interior. No mods other than tint on all windows including windshield.
My GV70:
3.5T AWD/Sport Prestige
Uyuni White/Ultramarine Blue
Red seatbelts/Red stitching
Mods (so far):
Tinted windows
Tinted tail lights
Wrapped side Mirrors and Roof in Gloss black.
Next mods researching: Engine Performance upgrade, Exhaust and probably suspension that I see here mentioned.
Anyway again, sorry for the rediculously long post.
I have added some pics can't seem to add video.
PS. Many of the AMGs have dropped in price and STILL on sellers hands since December'21 🤣
Great back story! Goes to show how impressive the GV70 really is.

Yes loving every minute of it. Turns heads everywhere I go. Lots of compliments. No regrets whatsoever.
I get the "roll down your window" motion at stoplights all the time. Asking me what kind of car I'm driving. Lol

Looks great. I like the lowered look. What do you think about airbags to raise / lower the car? I like them, but I worry about it affecting ride quality.

In addition to the seatback covers, Aimban offers other cool accessories for the GV70:

It's kind of rough to read, even after you translate from English to Korean, but there are a lot of pictures and videos.

I sent out a couple of notes today to see if I/we can get our hands on the other accessories. I e-mailed Aimban directly. I reached out to the ebay seller who is offering the seatback covers in the US (from which several of us on the forum have bought). I also messaged Sal on the GV80 forum site because he was trying to get the seatback covers added to the forum store back in January (before I was a member).

Will let you guys know what comes of it.

Yea, I think the air bags will look awesome.. definitely will mess with the ride quality for sure and the maintenance is a hassle to deal with in my opinion.

Just wheels and tires so far.....They offered to paint the brake calipers red for only 200 bucks.....Kinda wish I did it in hindsight but the car still looks sick with 22s and nice wide 265 tires.

I've always been a fan of gold. Yellow looks like a non-sports car is trying to hard.

This looks great! Personally I’d do a mustard yellow.

I haven't seen anyone else wrap their GV70 yet in 2-tone. Mine is below.

I was inspired by a 2-tone blue GV80 that I saw on the Internet, along with the more well-documented 2-tone Bentley Bentayga variants. The rear pillar lines were hardest to figure out, and I'm very happy with the final result. I wanted it to look as 'stock' as possible, and to me, it looks like an 'upgraded trim' package, which was the effect I was going for.

Not my thing tbh. But my or anyone else liking or not doesn't matter. Everyone's tastes and preferences are different. Your vehicle, and if you like it, that is all that matters. Enjoy it!!

Anyone driving around on 22's on the 2.5T model with out adaptive suspension that can give a good description of the ride quality? I know in general the GV70 suspension is really nice and supple, but its not air... really debating between 20's and 22's. I live in Canada, roads are not bad but not great, I plan on driving out to the mountains once in a while. I want 22's so badly for aesthetics, but worried about how harsh the ride will be.

Currently driving an 2019 rdx a-spec on 20's to give context.
Car should be delivered within a month!

If its the 3.5t model that has ECS. 22’s should be fine considering the tire wall to be between 45-50. It would right smooth. If its a 2.0t model that does not have ECS. I would say stick to a bigger tire sidewall.
