  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am a professional hahaha. I got it all worked out though. Just wanted to see what color wires he tapped into, but I figured that out as well… for premium audio the lexicon amp is on the back passenger side back quarter panel in the trunk.…. Locate black harness “left sub” white - black wires pins 1-2 and “right sub” Green - Orange wires pins 16-17. Tapping into those lines, ran power from battery and ran a fuse tap for remote turn on from the left quarter panel. “Using kicker keyloc loc” tapped the “Wiper blade” fuse. Now to tune shit and get the amp wires ran.

I’m a rookie here..I wanna install the p300 with built in amp..after tapping into those 4 total sub speaker wires, do still need to tap into a fuse for the remote turn on or will my amp turn on already if it has the audio input option on the P300 amp?
Thanks in advance.

In my experience, not with my GV70 but with several other installations, it's always better to just do the remote. You can do an add a fuse if you don't want to actually tap. If you don't wanna run all the way to the fuse box you can splice into any 12v power (preferably keyed) with an inline fuse.

I built myself a custom subwoofer. I had a 10” sub and amp from a previous install. I made the custom box to the right volume using MDF and fiber glass. Made it is as wide as the 40% rear split sear. It fits under the cargo cover. Front ends at the first crease in the floor to allow easy access to storage. Back is sloped to allow full recline. Easy to tap battery in the rear. Had some help tapping the subs under the front seats. Fills in the bottom end quite nicely. Fun project and couldn’t be happier with the results.

Mods on my Mauna red 2.5T prestige are:
- Hyperdipped the front hood emblem
- Completely debadged the hatch and added an emblem where "GENESIS" letters were located.
- Ceramic tint front side windows with Xpel 35%
- 21" aftermarket custom offset wheels on their way, likely to wrap with some Pirelli's TBD- these will go on in the spring. My OEM 19" have Contis VikingContact 7 winters on them and will remain my winter set.

Was thinking of wrapping tail lights with light smoke tailight tint, but not likely to bother. Will see how I feel in the spring.

Add on accessories include Viofo 2 channel dash cam, Tuxmats front and rear, smoke license plates front and rear.

I don't mind the tinted chrome trim although an option could be to black it out with the satin black vinyl wrap I have, but at this point, I don't see a need or have a desire to do so.

Comment on the emblems. While the hyperdip came out flawless, and looks great, I am seeing signs that it may not be so easy to maintain (as in water spotting), where as I don't have that issue with the wrap. I chose not to wrap the front because to do it properly, I would have had to remove it, and there are many more nooks and crannies in the front emblem that would make it difficult to to have it turn out well enough to not bother me for the rest of my ownership time with the car. That said, if the dip ends up being a PITA, I may remove it and do a wrap in the spring/summer.

This is truely an amazing job. Bet some folks here would be willing to pay for a box like that...

If you don't want to mess with Hyperdip you can buy black emblems and letterings on this very site. I have the Carbon Fiber version and it could not be easer to remove the old and install the new.

Yes, I am aware of KDM. Just can justify paying C$123 for a piece of plastic. IF the hyperdip doesn't last or turns out too tough to maintain, costs me nothing to try a wrap, and it will be a bit of a challenge to have it turn out perfect. Saw some cool vids of pro wrappers using a bucket and vacuum to literally vacuum seal the wrap on letters and emblems. Who knows, if I have time on my hands in the spring or summer, may MacGyver something and try it out.

This looks so clean … really great job!

Actually, I'm sorry. I didn't notice the recent costs of those emblems. I purchased mine 6-7 months ago and they prices were about 40% less, plus I'm in the US and didn't realize you are in Canada. My apologizes.

No worries!!! All good! I too remember when the prices were much lower when I first ordered my GV in March 2022. $20 shipping doesn't help either. Inflation bites.

There's always the good ol heat gun as well.

Not meaning to offend you, just trying to give you some food for thought.
Is the amount of time and effort you're spending on this tiny piece of plastic really worth less to you than $143?

Sense of pride in doing stuff myself. Have always been that way, building, tinkering. I'm an empty nester that goes nuts if not busy. Even if no time, would still refuse to pay $123...emblem would stay chrome.

Agreed. I refuse to pay over $100 for an emblem that cost them $10. It's the principle! ;)

You do know that Sal (who runs this site) is also the owner of KDM that is selling these emblems. He gets them as cheap as he can and resells to us. Most of the items he gets from Korea unless he can source a company to make them here. He is not making a huge profit but providing a source for you guys. If you do not want to purchase it at his price, then do not, but really think you should not act like he is gouging you.

Well, a little...Canadians are used to that. Things double or triple in cost compared to people a few hours south of us. I can get free shipping from China but never from the US. Sorry if it rubs someone the wrong way, but it still isn't a good deal.

I hear ya. Do not really understand the high cost between the US and Canada. You might be able to find a source in Korea that you can have shipped directly. Is the shipping cost from the US to Canada the main issue or is it the exchange rate?

For me, it is shipping. I understand exchange rates and I can live with that, but shipping charges are a choice.

Regardless of whether he owns the site they're still priced ridiculously. I'm sure he's not marking them up 1000% of his own accord, I'm sure they're marked up when he gets them and he's not going to sell them at a loss, doesn't mean it's not ridiculous.

It is only ridiculous if you think it is. If you want it and do not want to do the work or pay to have your current one dipped, wrapped or painted then it is not ridiculous. I do not know how much a chrome replacement one is from Genesis, but I would be willing to guess it is as much or more.

The black one for the GV80 from KDM is $69.95 (plus tax and shipping). Now that does not seem too much. If the exchange rate and maining to Canada makes it over $100.00 Can, then that is not KDM's fault.
