If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Pricing (USA) Revealed

Here is the latest pricing US
A 2020 X5 equipped roughly like the Prestige 3.5 GV80 comes out at about $76,300. The X5 that I would order comes out at $81,000. Hmmmm.

I think we will surprised how much it lists for in Canada. Many people put down their $1,000 deposit hoping it will be under or roughly $78,000 for the top end.. But judging from the USA prices, I now expect it to be approx $84,000. That is too high and maybe people will ask for deposit back, especially when you add the HST/GST..
It will be under $80k CAD.

My logic is this...

Fully loaded G70 in the USA is $53,245
Fully loaded G70 in Canada is $58,000
That is roughly a 8.93% increase (has nothing to do with currency)

Applying the same percentage makes a fully loaded USA GV80 at $71,975 to be about $78,400 CAD. So right at that $78k CAD mark you mention.

In the USA...similarly equipped SUV's from BMW and Audi will be well over ~$10k USD more.
Verified...BMW is $10k more...but without prepaid service. Probably add a few more grand for that.
Verified...Audi is $17k more...but that DOES include prepaid service.

I thought both Germans would be a lot more. Mind you I did not price out the 5.0 X5.

Regardless...f'ing steal.

I'm sure if you compare the options with German equivalents, this is a great deal. But it may be hard to compare the price to the RX, even if it's an interior vehicle in many aspects.
The price of the 2.5 is pretty competitive with the RX, which doesn't have anything comparable to the 3.5T power-wise. The way Genesis has priced it, it should be pretty competitive on both ends of the spectrum. But they really ought to finalize the details of the power output of both engines.

Those who are worried about wheels will probably be able to get a dealer-installed option like the recent facelifted G90.

Oh...one more thing...and this really pisses me off. Genesis is now charging $400 more for nicer paint. So they have converted to the same money grab as the Germans do. That is total BS.

The G70 has absolutely brilliant/gorgeous paint colors for no extra charge.

From the PDF document below, it appears the Advanced + adds 3rd row seats over the Advanced, but the Prestige does not add 3rd row seats over the Advanced! That is a ++ from my perspective.
There in lies the confusion - same as the configurator! Looks like Prestige doesn't have 3rd row but everyone says it does.

For a fully loaded GV80 at $72,375 I will be looking somewhere else, maybe a CPO.
Genesis just got pricey.

Yeah...

MSRP top spec = $70,950
Additional paint = $400
Dest charge = $1,025
Total = $72,375

Considering BMW/Audi may have better lease rates...and they are willing to haggle more. Could be a difference of a few grand to upgrade to a German SUV.

You are right.

You are right, The current configerator does not indicate the seating for the Prestige. Elsewhere on the forum I’m sure there was confirmation the the Prestige would be three row only. But you know what they say about people who believe in the everything you read on the internet LOL.

My guess is the GV70 will be priced well into the 60's.

So you’re looking at BMW also are you? LOL I’ve been waiting for X5 45e PEHV not coming until summer, you’re pricing is spot on, even with the Genesis boosted top price they’re still a price leader.

Actually that is not correct. I priced an X5 with the same options...and it came out to $10k more WITHOUT a prepaid service plan. So it is more than $10k USD.

Thanks for sharing, what's the Additional Paint for $400 ?

Hi Beefer, what part is not correct? Cruiser said his BMW price came out about $81K, that’s similar to the pricing I got? Does that not make the GV80 the price leader? What did I miss?

Sorry...I should have been more clear.

He/she said "A 2020 X5 equipped roughly like the Prestige 3.5 GV80 comes out at about $76,300."

That is what I meant by not correct. It is way more than that.

Depends on the base selection. If you have six good colors and two special for $400 I can understand that. Unfortunately, looks like you get 2 coats of Sears latex ceiling paint and anything more is $400. I look at that as crappy marketing to make the base price look better. Tacky.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I’ve been pricing the Lincoln aviator configurations for a while and was just waiting for the GV80 to announce pricing. Seems to me the aviator may be a better value for my configuration options and variables that matter to me. Really disappointed with this, I wanted the GV80 to come out ahead.

I’ll be interested to read some comparisons between this in the Palisade/Telluride.

While I firmly believe the GV80 is a much nicer ride, I’ll be curious if reviewers will find $25k nicer.
You don't even need to wait for comparisons to know the difference. The Palluride twins will have less power and luxury, but more space and a cheaper price tag. If your priority is space and comfort, those two are best in class. But if you want the newest technology and RWD driving dynamics with more power without paying for German long-term unreliability and exorbitant maintenance and repair costs, that's where the GV80 comes in. Whether that's worth the premium is up to you.

I should have been more specific in the choices that I made to get to the $76K:

a) Standard tires (I'm not interested in the GV80's 22s, and would seek to swap them out at the dealer for 20s)
b) Vernasca leather
c) The $500 paint
d) The Harmon sound system not the B&W (as much as I like B&W and have their floor standing speakers, I'm not paying $4K)
c) No floor mats.
d) Smaller engine

But I did include third row seats (which come with air suspension), executive option, comfort seats, etc.

To get to the $81K, I added more expensive paint, night vision, floor mats and a few other things that I would like to have. I would also seriously consider the hybrid that is coming this summer, but I think that will come in at $6-8K more pre tax. Clearly, you can option a gas X5 up to almost $90K if you want everything.

Even at my preferred $81K configuration, I was expecting that the GV80 would come in at least $15K less. I'm not sure the $10K difference would make me give up my BMW bias. Actually, it will be my wife's car, and it is her BMW bias! She loves her current X5.
