  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Reviews

That ranking was posted before driving it on US soil though

Think his spiel at the end of what else you can get for arounded $70k is a bit silly (the new Escalade, equipped as many will want, goes for over $100k - doesn't mean that buyers will be cross-shopping with a 911).

More important are lease rates in comparison to the Germans, etc.

So the E-LSD is actually a completely mechanical setup with real torque vectoring, not by brakes. Nice. That explains why there's no space for a spare on the Prestige model.

I’m cross shopping between F150 Limited Powerboost, BMW X5 45e PHEV, RAM 1500 Limited (though this is slowly falling off the list...).

Now that 101 trap speed shows the power to weight ratio. Then 5.3 0-60 makes sense relative to Motortrend's 6 flat. And the 5-60 time of 6.1 is great in light of the longer gearing for the V6.

Of course this is the Advanced trim with 20" wheels. Somewhat better numbers could be expected independently from testing methodology.

Good comment on interior noise level too.

Thanks for posting. Just got this in my email. A nicely done review. Hoping one will be available tomorrow test drive in November when it sound like they’ll be arriving.

Cross-shopping with upper trims of pickups is understandable, esp. these days.

Not to say that no one cross-shops a 911 with midsize crossovers, but likely not very common.

Are you sure about that?

Hadn't seen it after they did their drive in Korea.
Yep. They do estimate the rankings based on opinions.

Ranked #1 in its segment by C/D, ahead of the Cayenne and X5 (scroll down).

Of the reviews thus far, seems like the biggest thing to draw from them is how much the reviewers have been wowed by the interior.

Not sure I 1) give much credibility to 'ranked first' before a true comparison test, and 2) I'm not cross-shopping a GV80 vs. Cayenne and (base model) X5.

Another first drive...

Yep, hearing him say that about the 22s is a big deal for me. Sure, the 22s will compromise the ride quality to some extent...but if it already has a stellar ride/suspension, a little bit of 'compromise' can be tolerated.

Just put my reservation in this AM. Green exterior, Beige interior, and prestige all the way.

Sorry if this one has been posted before. I did not read through this entire thread. What I thought was interesting is they didn't like the ride on the 20" wheels so who knows what they would say about the 22's. Of course ride quality is a personal perception so what is harsh to one can be sporty to another.

Awesome review. The guy tests the GV80's traction and offroad capability.
Going through the comments section of that video, someone mentioned how the US-spec GV80 didn't get the terrain selector that locks up the rear mechanical differential. Strange omission, but Genesis is probably betting that 99% of the Americans who buy this will never take it off-road.

I've seen many SUVs off road. Mostly because they think with AWD they can still drive at 70 on a snowy/icy highway.
OK, that was harsh. I do know a Hummer owner and he does have a gravel driveway so that is off road.

Another review which has no issues with the ride.

Think it was smart that Genesis erred on the side of luxury over sport, but at the same time, hope that a GV80 Sport is on the way for those who want more performance and handling prowess.

In addition, the 3-spoke wheel on the Sport would keep some buyers in the fold who totally can't stand the regular wheel design.
