  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hard to Choose - Genesis please help!

Funny

Nav screen frozen on the Hyundai symbol...
LOL!!!

I just put that because i thought the XENON was only available in tech package.
So you think that original owner added that themselves?

Nope. Pressing display button on wheel does nothing. :(
I updated my original post, but if the DISP button does not change anything on the dash, then I'm not sure what purpose the DISP button has in your car. :)

The procedure is to press (and release) the DISP button until the ECO leaf shows. Then hold the DISP button in until it changes from ON to OFF (or vice versa). I checked it this morning on my car on the way to work to make sure I wasn't leading people down the wrong path. :)

No it is OEM. On the driver's side door it warns that the car is equipped with XENON headlights.

The I don't see how you can any Tech Package features. You only have Premium Package.

That is what I thought too! That is why in my signature I said some tech.
But plain as day there is a OEM yellow sticker on the driver side door like where the tire info is warns about HIDs. I will take a pic when I get home.

The Tech Package headlights are Xenon HID auto-leveling (sometimes referred to as auto-cornering). If you have those, then they must have been installed by the original owner (I seem to recall some threads that discuss how to do this, but not sure), since you obviously don't have the Technology Package (no DIS). I would not take it as an absolute given that have those headlights just because of the sticker in the door jamb (the sticker could have been a mistake at factory).

welp the HIDs corner and all. they are def. factory. i must have a "special edition"

lol

Mark_888, I owe you a HUGE APOLOGY. Last week my drivers side HID light has been flickering so I knew it was on its way out. So I ordered a DS1 bulb for which I thought was going to replace the HID bulb.
Well 20 mins after removing the shroud around the headlights, I DO NOT HAVE FACTORY HIDS!!!! As I look there is a blue ballast/ignitor connected to headlight and someone drilled through headlight cover (professionally i may add) and velcroed the ballast on the car.

Not only am I pissed but I am aggravated as I thought sure this was factory.
I purchased a CPO Genesis. How in the cussword can this be allowed to be a CPO car???? I am so heated I want to go back to that dealership and demand they fix it but i think it is not even worth wasting the 1 to 2 hr drive to go back there.

Thank GOD, I have extra 35watt ballasts laying around and i seemed to work. Took it a minute to warm up versus the passenger side which still has the fat ballast.

Again, sorry everyone. I did not think i would be under the hood for anything as it just hit 40k miles yesterday.

Thanks

Ambush
