  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

That is a sharp looking steering wheel, I like it! Also curious if anyone has had experience with it!

This wood still looks a little too red. I've got a cashmere interior 3.8, and the wood is a very subtlely grained dark walnut color. If anyone comes across a wheel with that particular wood, let me know!

Yeah, I have to think if it's not a very close match to the faux wood trim in the rest of the interior, it just won't look right.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Although not bad, I wish someone would make a real wood trim interior kit for the Genesis. The steering wheel above is not real wood and for those who want a different color it says to choose from the drop down list.;) The V8 Genesis comes with a faux wood wheel but only the upper portion, not the lower portion as shown on this one.

KAI advertises a wood/leather steering wheel for $695. Has anybody seen or purchased one of these? They look nice in the photos (http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=31_237_239&products_id=3506) but for that price I'd like more than a picture to go on.
I took the plunge and ordered one, but the folks in Seoul sent the wrong wheel. I returned it and am now waiting for the correct wheel. I'll see how the wood looks in person (just can't tell much from a photo) - if it looks good I'll install it; if not I'll send it back. If I install it I'll post some pictures, but I can't guarantee that my pics will be any better or more informative than KAI's.

The correct wheel arrived a couple of days ago - I had the dealer install it this morning. This required transferring all of the controls, plus the airbag module, from the old wheel to the new. It took about an hour and the total charge was - are you ready for this? - $49.00.

The new wheel looks terrific - I'll post photos later today - and it feels great. it's much "chunkier" than the OEM and feels very solid. It is not slippery like the leather, and the top arc has finger indentations, unlike the leather, providing a very firm, secure grip. This was an expensive upgrade (over $700 including installation) but I'm glad I did it.:D

And I thought $150 for the airbag was expensive!
Glad you like it. Steering wheels aren't cheap no matter what brand.
Please post pics when you get a chance. :)

I just posted some pics of the steering wheel - check my album. In the pictures the wood tone looks a little more red than the plood in the car, but in person the difference is not nearly as apparent.

Saw the pics. Looks sweet!
I love thick steering wheels. Some don't like it and says it feels like someone else's forearm.
Loved the solid thick feel on my old VW R32. BMW Ms have thicker steering wheels also.

I placed a nice black steering wheel cover to thicken it up...works great.

Where do you get the fake add on steering wheel wood trim pieve that some members have? Its more like a 3m stick on cover.
