If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I put my issue in the minor category. The Genesis tag fell off the rear. The left fog lamp bulb went out after 2 years and the TPMS indicator kept coming on.
Dealer ended up putting nitrogen in all 4 tires and fixed the problem.

Also my left front headlamp pops out of the socket when i hit a pothole

I bought a 2012 r-spec about 6 weeks ago. I've had a problem with the car pulling to the right. 4 trips to the dealer so far. The first 3 times I was told there was no problem, and the car drove fine, which couldn't be further from the truth. They've thrown it on the alignment rack and said all was in spec, but it still has an issue. Finally on the 4th trip, they said the tech noticed the problem. I'm still waiting for a call on the 5th trip to the service dept, but don't have high hopes on them fixing it. Whatever measures they've taken so far now have the steering wheel cockeyed to the right when driving straight. Hopefully it will finally get corrected, or Hyundai will be hearing from an attorney. It's a bummer because it's really a wonderful car, but I don't enjoy driving it since i've got to hang on to the steering wheel constantly to keep from changing lanes.

I have had my 2012 3.8 Premium for about 3 weeks. Overall a great car for the money. I have about 700 miles on it.

I too have had frequent problems with the iphone not syncing properly with the system. It says it is connected but if I make a call from the car if often does not complete the call or will not work through the car's speaker. Once or twice the entire nav screen completely locked up.

Also, as noted in several reviews of the vehicle, while the 8 speed auto shifts smoothly, it is pretty slow to downshift.

Otherwise a great vehicle for the money.

I watched your video. There have been other owners....2009-2011....that have had the same problem. There is a thread about this (with a solution if memory serves me well) somewhere. Not sure which keywords to use for search but try all you can think of until you find it.

Same here.

Spend about $80 and get a 4 wheel alignment at a quality independent shop and also swap the two front tires. Consider road force balancing as well for a few extra dollars. Worked for me.

New problem just popped up at 58K miles, i noticed a funny smell roughly a week and a half ago. Smelled like something burning from under the hood. I took a look but couldn't find the problem and none of the instruments panel readings registered any issues. So i kept driving thinking i'll just monitor it and see what happens. Over the course of the week it continued intermitently usually when it rained. I'm still not overly alarmed at this point, but i decide to make an appointment with the dealership just to get it checked out. This past Saturday, i'm at the car wash and one of the cleaning technicians tells me the smell in my car is likely due to a broken heating coil causing anti-freeze to leak on the engine which is what's producing that burining smell. Alarmed by this news, I tried to push up my appointment but i couldn't get anything that day and the earliest appointment i could get with a loaner was Tuesday, and i had a baby shower to go to in brooklyn on Sunday (YIKES!!!!). While driving to the shower, the temperature guage had a mind of it's own, moving up and down like a rowboat in rough seas. I was very nervous because i had my 3 sons with me and i didn't want the car to overheat and leave us stranded on the side of some road. Thankfully, i was able to make it there and back by putting an insane amount of anti-freeze in the car on the way back. So today i take the car to the dealership and they tell me the radiator is the problem and needs to be replaced.

Long story short has anyone else had issues with their radiator??

I have had my car for about 2 weeks...I picked the car up at night so I didnt notice a small ding in the left door. I called the dealership the next day and they said it could be pulled out without any harm to the paint or finish. Im all good there and going in on Tuesday. Its small but hey its new. The other concern and more frustrating paint issue is I noticed right under the right front passenger door handle and is raised and not smooth. Almost like a tic-tac that has been sucked on for a while with a little nub missing. Hehe! I really don't know how else to say it. I don't know how they are going to go about fixing this? or if its possible without making a mess of the door which will not sit well with me on a car that has less than 600 miles. Any ideas about how to approach this as well would be welcome...Thanks in advance to the community!! I'm a new addition!!

Bought used. Two minor issues:
1. Had a bad door lock solenoid, replace under warranty.

2. Hood tamper switch rubber button missing, killed battery after a week at the airport. Also fixed under warranty, no harm done to battery.

Great car.

1. Steering wheel movement switch went bad after 6 months, fixed under warranty.
2. Navigation program has crashed 4 times (out of memory). On waiting list now for new head unit.

2012 Hyundai Genesis fully loaded. The only problem i am having so far is with the bluetooth connection. i have a new droid razr from verizon. it connects and disconnects just fine BUT when i receive a call it takes roughly 6-7 seconds for the system to switch from whatever source over to bluetooth mode. Thus making the caller wait that amount of time before they can hear me. I have contacted Hyundai and of course they say well were not sure. Also it doesnt stream audio which I hear does not work if you have the DIS. Any help on this issue would be appreciated. Other than that, i love everything about the car. Especially the smart cruise and the Auto Hold braking system.

Yes, car pulling to the right and Slight steering wheel vibrations at 60-70 mph.
returned to dealer this morning and they did a road force alignment and wheel balance and rotation and problem seems to be fixed.:)
Vehicle brand new, 540 miles on odometer.

My new 2012 Genesis showed a "check engine light." Dealer diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel filter. It took a week for the part to arrive, necessitating two trips to the dealer and two days loss of use each time.

The problem reoccurred, and this time a bad "fuel canister" was at fault. It took two days to diagnose this problem and the car was out of service for over two weeks waiting for the part to arrive.

Dealer did give me a loaner but was never able to get information about the part availability or delivery.

It is frustrating that Hyundai markets a luxury vehicle but doesn't allow dealers to keep parts in stock. Their supply system is either poorly managed or non-existent.

This situation would make me think twice about getting a new Genesis in the future.

I now have 45,009 miles on my Genesis V8 4.6L Sedan. I can honestly say it has been one of the best cars that I have ever had. No annoying issues, it drives great and I absolutely love it.

Have been to dealer several times with this problem. At first, seemed like the transmission was always hunting to change gears, so the drive was always uneven, buckling, surging, etc. Now believe that the problem is in the engine or throttle control. On long trip. eight hours, car was a misery to drive, with mini surges and balks. Worse when engine is cold, but always there. Dealer says can't act unless there are codes produced. Now believe that the problem detection system is itself deficient because it should be generatinf problem codes. Very dissatisfied and looking at other brands.

It sounds like you got contaminated gasoline at some point. Have fuel tank drained, fuel lines cleaned and fuel filter replaced.

Navigation Head Unit keep freezing. Only happens sometimes but when it does its annoying. Only seems to happen when I need the GPS. Also, the bluetooth system seems to be acting up. Connecting to my phone even when the car is off. I have had 3 previous cars that I had installed the bluetooth on. Same phone and never had an issue. Very annoying when im standing next to the car when its turned off and I suddenly lose my phone call cause the car took over and now I can't hear anything.
