  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have you seen any/many Genesis on the streets?

I've been driving around the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys for the last 6 weeks and haven't seen one. Last Thursday I was in Orange County and saw 4 Sedans in 5 minutes on i5 and on Culver Blvd. (Does this mean Orange County people are smarter??)

Few days ago I finally saw one (confirmed sighting). It was just chilling in a mall's parking lot. It had a child seat in the back and all of stupid little italic Hs were present.

This is after 6 months of owning car.

I haven't seen another Genesis in Virginia Beach or surrounding cities. Bought it 8 weeks ago and have been looking around for others since then. Someone suggested flashing lights...My first thought when I see that is to slow down and look for the police. Now I'll check for a Genesis driver too.;)

Hey, PearlGen, congrats on the Gennie! I always thought the cashmere would look great with the white pearl, but I opted for platinum/black. Saw a black/black 3.8 Thursday in the parking garage at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth--on the top deck, far side away from the hospital entrance--right where I prefer to park mine. So I parked 4 spaces to his right.

Anyway, there are a few of us around. I live in P-town but will look for you when I get to the Beach.

Well, I finally saw another Genesis right after I posted my previous note. It was white, traveling on Princess Anne Road toward Pungo. It looked so good! Appreciate your note Bradfieldsmith. Nice that you can park in a garage while you work. I'll keep an eye out for you!

I live outside of Raleigh, NC in Holly Springs. Bought mine a couple of weeks ago. I just saw a Black 4.8 in town. other that that zippo!

Two more sedans spotted last week: A titanium V6 non-rebadged on the 710 between the 105 and 5 freeways, and a black V8 non-rebadged but with the NACotY frame on the I-15 in the Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga area. Still have yet to see a 'live' coupe in the LA area.

I saw one on 684 in Westchester, NY last week, platinum no badging the color looked hot first one in a long time, i've had mine for 5 months now and first i've seen on the road, others i've seen in a driveway accross the street from my brothers place

I've only seen one other Genesis on the road down here in the South SF Bay Area... a black 3.8 (I believe) without rebadge. Looked nice.

I have had mine for 6 weeks and have seen only 1 other one deep in the city of Atlanta (I live in suburbs and work in Buckhead - northern fringe of city). However, my wife and I just convinced a friend to buy one instead of a stupid hybrid - let him drive mine for a while and it was all over (He's a pilot and thus a machine guy although, like me, an economic/utility oriented Toyota owner during our kid raising years). Thus I will be seeing his on a regular basis (look for him between lower Cobb county and the ATL airport).

Hey! Been an owner for a total of 11 days and scoured this site for 3 months prior to making my purchase (thanks all!).

There are a total of three in my neighborhood here in NJ and two more by where I work in Carlstadt. Passed one on Rte 80W coming home to boot!. They're certainly on the prowl in Northern Jersey!

Rebadged 4.6 Sapphire Blue Pearl w/Tech

Re: 3.8 or 4.6

Have to admit I look for it, but so far the other Gennies I've seen have been 3.8s, which seems to correspond with what my dealer said he was selling, and the product mix I previously read Hyundai was starting with (80/20, 3.8 to 4.6). Any other observations?

I have not observed any on the open roads. Yet there are 3 on my street in Holly Springs NC.

Hey, hey . . . . . that's a good thing neighbor! Means you AND your neighbors are smart! ;)

I've been seeing a couple of more on the streets, still for this area the BMW's, Lexus', and MB's outweigh any other cars. I have yet to see any coupes on the road.

Seven months, 15,000 miles, 25 states and one province after driving that first mile, still not a single sighting.

3 so far since July:

I've seen a light blue one in crug store parking lot, Palm Bay, FL.
I've seen a black one in Cocoa,
And yesterday a red one with hood badge who was kind enough to slow down so I could make a left turn in front of him! Aren't we Genny owners so polite!

Acey
