  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How do people shop for and buy a G70 2.0T Sport?

I'm out shopping for a G70 right now and having a tough time on deciding on the package. I know the debate on 2.0T vs 3.3T has been done to death on the forum, so I won't bring that up again. ;). If I go with a 2.0T, I just don't know if the Sport trim is worth the extra $1000 (all appearance, right?). Also, anyone notice a ride difference between the 18" and 19" wheels on the 2.0T? Thanks.

It's not just the wheels - the brakes! Will someone please think of the brakes!!! There are other goodies included too on the inside, not to mention the substantially stickier tires included with the 19's.

The 2019 automatic 2.0T Sport trim doesn't come with upgraded Brembo brakes. Only the 2.0T manual and all 3.3T trims come with the Brembos.

^ don't forget, the 2.0T Sport 6MT not only gets the big brakes, but the special Sport euro semi-metallic pad. it is the only trim in CAD to get these pads, and only the 3.3T Dynamic RWD gets them as well in the US market.

Don't forget how good the brake dust from those pads tastes. Wait, I meant to say how good the brake dust coats the wheels.

^ yup. i've made mention of that numerous times. great bite. bad dusting. i'm thankful for the dark 5-spoke Sport rims which are super easy to clean and hide the dust.

the US gets the sweet 10-spoke rims, but those must be a pain to wash and would show the dust.

Correct. I have cut back my wheel washing regimen to once a week, to preserve my sanity. I need two devices to clean these wheels, a large brush to get the rim, hub, and spoke faces, and a scrubber wand to get between the spokes, the inside of the barrels, and the calipers. Then, because the clearances are so tight, you have to roll the car back 6" to get the part of the caliper that was blocked by the spokes. And this is with the really good wheel cleaner spray.

First world car problems, listen to me complain about them.

I don’t know if anyone responded to the 18” vs 19” ride quality difference, but I can. I notice no difference whatsoever. The ride quality and compliance on the 19s is shockingly good. Very smooth. I attribute this to the structural rigidity of the unibody and some lightweight materials in the suspension/unsprung weight components.

But when they’re clean those 10 spokes are the best looking of all the G70 wheels! Okay, okay. I’m biased.
