  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mine is still active after 13 months. I never listen to XM, but every now and then I switch to it to see if it's still active. So far, it is

Wow. Before my 90 days was up, I did read here and a few other places that they didn't bother actually shutting the service off in many cases. So, when they started sending me subscriptions letters after about 30 days I ignored them to see what would happen after 90 days. Maybe I'm in the minority, but they shut me down within about a week of 90 days from the day I bought the car. So, enforcement appears to vary greatly.

Congrats on your free satellite radio!

I was told XM was 1 year free before signing however, they shut it off after 90 days.
Because I complained they said it is 1 year free only with the tech package.
Yet because I have a 2011 4.6, can't be baught without tech package they turned it back on.

i bought my 2010 4.6 last month, the XM still works, so left it alone. So far, I love, never thought listen to radio without interruption is so much fun.

I have never gotten any correspondence from XM, either. I'm very seldom in my car for more than 15 or 20 minutes at a time and listen mostly to NPR - maybe they know somehow that I don't listen to it, and since I'm not using it maybe they feel no pressing need to turn it off .:D

My one-year trial has stretched to almost 2 years. When I checked on their website with my radio code and my car ID, there is no record of either. I don't think they know I am out here.

I'll see what happens in July when 2 years are up.

I did not use the XM much at first, but I have become something of a fan now.

My 2010 with Tech package expired after 90 days. I love it and negotiated a 3 year deal. Sounds like 2011 with Tech are 12 months??

2011 4.6 with Tech here, 3 months then they shut it down. Maybe 2011 3.8 with Tech option gets 12 months of XM and 4.6 (all 2011 4.6 has Tech standard) gets only 3 months, but that seems highly unlikely.

Oh, I just read OldSpice's post. Yeah, maybe it's offered for 12 months free on 3.6's as an incentive to upgrade with Tech package. I suppose that would make at least a little sense.

Maybe a hair off topic, but one should be able to negotiate a (vehicle) lifetime subscription for about $650 after all royalties, taxes, etc. Just don't give them your credit card number, and expect the first invoice to be about $200 high until you call them and tell them to get their shit straight.

They cut mine off in 92 days. About 2 months later XM called me on my cell (no idea of where they got the number) and offered it to me for $77 (Half Price). I accepted and also was given half off the XM for the computer. Spend a lot of time in the car and enjoy it.

Mine is also past the 12month mark now. When I purchased my vehicle the salesman said that the 2009s had a 12 month subscription, but they dropped it down to 90 days for the 2010 models. I presume that 90 day subscription has continued for the newer models.

2 1/2 years and still going strong...( with traffic ) !!:)

I got 1 year with 2009 Tech Package -- I didn't use it at all for 2.5 - 3 months but found it to my liking without commercials or having to change stations when I travel.

I bought the lifetime subscription.

I live in a no where town, so I might not get the option here, but how can you tell if you have XM traffic?

Mine was already expired when I got the car. I think it was used for a demo for a short time. After 3 months of getting letters from XM I called them and told them I never got MY 90 day trial period so they gave me 1 year for $24.95.
