  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How to get Apple Carplay/Android Auto in a 2015-2016 Genesis Sedan Ultimate (9.2" Screen) - KPLAY

I read thru the whole thread. Did you end up needing the 90 degree LVDS? Or the LVDS extension cable?

Curious about all the parts you ordered vs the parts you needed? Thanks

I just ordered the $20 extra cable that they offered. Hopefully, that will take care of everything.

I ordered the LVDS extensions cable with the HK CARPLAY2 10w, it was needed for the install in my 2015 Ultimate Genesis with 9.2 inch screen.

So far after 1 month, the system is working good, be aware the system has about a 2 sec delay with intial touch to start an AA app, also using Google Map satellite street images uses a lot of data, make sure you have a unlimited data plan if you use that feature. I also went with a dedicated android phone to run AA just for convenience. Although not perfect, I am happy with the unit.

I'm just hoping that it'll keep the 'ol girl feeling current...!

Got mine yesterday... Can anyone tell me what this is? It was floating around loose in the black KPLAY box.IMG_0756.jpg

Finally got my Kplay2 installation completed, my last problem with CAN related features (reverse detect & steering hangup long press) resolved, due to missed wire can wire caused by bad instruction picture in installation manual. (Note : The unit I received does support CAN reverse detect.) While I was at it, I also changed out the 2 front lighter sockets for a 3 port USB (2 USB A & USB C socket) and a USB A and 3.5mm Aux output socket for the KPLAY audio & video out, also added a 3 port usb socket and lighter socket for the rear seat. Overall came out looking good .Thanks to @Suburbazine, @MrXelious and all that assisted.
Can you attach all the pictures please. Thanks

Not sure what it is for as it was not mentioned in the installation instruction but It was not needed for my Installation.
Thanks! The instructions do leave a LOT to be desired! Pretty sure that the assembly will make itself fairly clear once everything is apart - Hopefully....

1 caveat to be aware of, the CAN picture connections shown in the instruction is reversed, the ibox connector is shown down side up when compared to the ibox layout in the car, your CAN wires are connected to pin 31 & 32 (blue & red wire) the 2 bottom right wires of the ibox connector, in the installation picture it show the 2 top left wire. see attached picture.

Another thing you should install is the microphone, It works great with AA for voice command. Also although not necessary I did wire up the mode switch for manual switching of screen as a backup, its connected to the video interface box. I also used all 3 outputs from the kplay box (2 audio left & right and 1 video). The AUX input 3.5 mm jack in the car does accept composite video, but will not work while the car is in motion.

Good info there! Wish the manufacturer had put out a video or something, instead of the half-assed powerpoint pages!

Did that manual switch work for you? The guy on YouTube w/ the K900 couldn't get it to function....
