  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently i was at the dealer & gave my service dept manager a lift to the bank as a favor, he was riding in the back as i had my son in the front seat, He informed me that he heard a noise back there that i didnt hear myself from the front as i always have my ipod or xm radio on. He said it was a noise that didnt sound right (like maybe the struts) Well anyway this morning he informed me that there was a TSB issused to the hyundai dealers about this issuse & that it might become a recall issuse, HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD ABOUT THIS OR HEARD THE NOISE THEMSELVES ???

Moving this to the suspension forum...

Maybe this is just a technicality, but I didn't think that they use struts on the Sedan. It is a spring/shock assembly. I have seen pics of the front, but have to admit I have not seen the rears.

There are no Struts on the sedan,

Well it may not Be struts but it was a noise that he said he heard & called me this morning about a new TSB that they recieved from hyundai

Has the TSB shown up in the TSB section of this group yet?

Any TSB relating to the suspension (especially in the rear) would potentially be big news (but maybe I am assuming too much).

I went out to the HMA Service Site (http://www.hmaservice.com/) and these are the only Genesis Sedan specific TSB's listed:

i also checked for the TSB'S on the Hyundai Service Website & didnt see em & asked him again all he would say is that it was a TSB given to thier service department so im not sure if they get some TSB'S that only go out to the dealers or not but if i find anything else out about this believe me i"ll let you all know but like i said i havent heard any noise myself & the car is driving very nice to me

I'd think it's just a matter of time till many of us Genny owners would develop thunk/noise in the back. For one, suspension noise/thunk is a very common Hyundai problem. Not to mention all the bouncing in the Genny could easily cause some sort of noise. I've developed a couple of interior rattles from all the shaking already

Any car company must just HATE reading posts on a BB that has something to do with their carline.

"One mans meat is another mans poison".

I keep reading about the suspension of some Genesis' that are bouncing (doug725) or too soft, and yet, others (like myself) say that the suspension is too hard. What is a car company to do to keep everyone happy.

I love a car that goes around turns and corners fast, but I would give some of it up to have a softer suspension. (Not mushy, just softer)

Sorry, but if you think it's just an issue of not being able to keep everyone happy and personal preference (soft vs. firm) you are not versed in the issue under discussion. If you like the ride characteristic - great - but, you'll never convince me that it is any way normal or desirable for a mainstream car with luxury (or even luxury sport) pretensions.

Why don't you just sell the car?

Will do MK when time is right/find what I want (have not yet unfortunately). In the meantime I'm using it as little as possible.

Why is it so important for you to deny/downplay the issue all the time and attempt to stop the topic? Just a question.

It was a simple question

Probably for the same reason you feel the need to keep repeating the same stuff over and over and over and over in every thread, including the exaggerations, half-truths and sensationalistic garbage.

If anything I think everyone here has been more than lenient and tolerant of your extremely annoying obsession. I think his question is more than fair.

Doug, I truly respect your opinions and feel for your disatisfaction with your Genesis suspension. You really need to dump the car before your fillings come loose, and the car rips itself apart at speed. Your Genesis seems to be the perfect James Bond car..."shaken, not stirred."

Speaking of exaggerations. But, sorry you feel that way it's all true I'm afraid. Are the others with the same problem half true as well?

If I recall, you are the ONLY person here who has had to keep their car mothballed in the garage for fear that every time you get behind the wheel something dangerous will happen. Your words, not ours. I think it has become an obsession for you.
