If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hyundai Genesis Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Thanks for this tip. I have a 2011 4.6, and it worked for me. (The door unlocking part, not the mirrors)

Same for me and I can find no reference to power folding mirrors in either the 2009 manual or the 2011 don't have one for a 2010 or 2012....must be a an unlisted feature. Can someone list the manual page of said feature.
Thanks:confused:

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

The guy that sold me the car showed me how to do it. I've never even opened my manual.

Power folding mirrors are a NEW FEATURE for 2012 models :p
They did not exist prior, at least not in our market that is...

I have the 2011 4.6 and the door unlocking part does not work for me. I tried this about 10 times to no avail. I saw this in the manual, but I cannot get it to work.

Edit - I tried my other key Fob and got it to work with this one! --- I had one made up by the dealer as the car only came with 1 fob. Maybe there is a difference?

Reprogrammed door locking on my 2012 as indicated above. Works great!

Two click on door open moves the power mirror and two clicks on do open folds it. Much happier now...

Thanks. Any other program secrets like on DIS?

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

From what Ive been told the Auto Hold is OFF by default and can not be changed to ON by default. Sorry.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Other news is the AFLS system is ON when the lights stalk selection is on AUTO and the AFLS is OFF when the stalk selection is turned to ON.

I have not tested this so I can vouch for the validity of this.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

any way to default to OFF the auto dimming rear view mirror? I hate the constant green tint even in day time.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Great tip on the door lock change---love it!!

Thanks

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

If I remember correctly, this procedure (changing the setting with the fob) was in the manual of the 2011 Genesis. The 2009 Genesis could only be changed by the dealership.

I have a 2010 premium package and did not work for me.......tried multiple times. It is a handy feature and may ask the tech next time I am in if they can make the adjustment.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Any way to prevent the outside mirrors from tilting down when the car is placed in reverse?

Check page 4-36 of the 2011 manual.

Check page 4-36 of the 2011 manual.

Same page in the 2012 manual. Now I need to see if BMW works the same way. It tilts way too far. Thanks.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

Is there a way to default the smart cruise control to the shortest distance to the car ahead? I hate always having to click that button twice. I'd rather not have to click it at all.

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

2010 Tech 4.6, can't get the unlock trick to work. Manual gives instructions, so seemingly it should work. Dealer looked baffled when i brought it up

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

When I discovered (on my 2012) that I could reprogam the locking system so that all four doors unlock with one press of the button on the door handle, I thought I had discovered the holy grail. Do you know how much better life got when I reduced by daily button pushes by half??

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

I have a 2010 V6. w/Nav. When I lock the car no lights or sound to indicate that it is locked. It does do this when I unlock.
Does anyone have an idea on this?

I tried the button holding down on the remote trick but it does not work on the 2010.

Do you have touch screen or tech pkg.?

Re: Secrets from the Hyundai Service Department

I tried the door unlocking change by holding the buttons on the fob, but it does not work for me. I also tried this about 10 times to no avail, with each remote separately. This IS in the manual, but I cannot get it to work. My car also stopped beeping a couple months ago when locking the door with the remote. No idea why, but it's irritating. Changing the "Door Lock Sound" setting in the DIS has no effect. I"m thinking this is one for the dealer.
