  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First, I currently own an '03 BMW 525i Sport which has a really a firm and sporty suspension. I'm thinking about replacing it with a brand new Genesis sedan Tech (either V6 or V8).

I checked the online inventory here in Houston and I found one dealer with few '09 4.6L in stock offering a good internet discount for them.

Since, I was curious about the complains about '09 suspension, after calling the internet sales manager and talking with him about their current incentives for the '09s, I decided to go there to test drive one of their '09 V8 with Tech Package.

Well, I didn't have to drive too much to notice that the ride on this car was really bumpy. Even, the internet sales manager sitting on the passenger seat couldn't resist to agree with me when I was making my comments about the suspension.

Then, I test drove the only '10 they had left in stock (a V8 with Tech Package). I noticed the difference on the suspension right away. It feels much better on the '10 and it is closer to the sport ride feeling of my bimmer.

I'm now waiting to test drive one of the new '10 V6 Tech they're supposed to receive next week to decide which one I'm going to buy.

Check out my thread on the Genesis V8 that I bought a week ago. I'm a BMW driver for 20 years (with a smattering of Audi, MB and Lexus in the mix). I became irritated with the local BMW dealer when they directed me to the website for pricing on a new 335i and added a $2500 add for mandatory Lojak and a few other options. The point is that the BMW purchase price was barely negotiable and the add on dealer fee was non-negotiable. I felt there had to be something better and found the Genesis forum, where I learned about Hyundai's luxury sedan. I've tested the 09 and 10 V6 and V8. There was no doubt that I preferred the V8--heavier, smoother drive, great standard features, lots of power. I wanted a V8 Tech package but none was available so I looked at the non-tech and realized it has everything I need (with a few exceptions but those exceptions didn't equal $3000). I bought the V8 without Tech and am delighted. It's not a BMW but it drives well and handles just fine. It's by far a quieter and smoother drive than the BMW but not lumpy like the Lexus. It's a nice median between the German and Japanese drive plus it has many options----for a lot less money.

I just bought the 2010 V8 Tech this evening. Got a good deal.

Traded-in my bimmer. I managed to get a decent trade-in value on my bimmer because, it was really in mint condition and I clearly expressed that I was firm on the price. It also helped me that there were a couple of guys at the dealer already calling dibs on my bimmer.

I really wanted the Genesis V8 in Platinum/Black they had in stock but, wife didn't like the black interior. So, she picked a White/Cashemere V8 Tech which looks gorgeous anyway.

Finally, I tested the Auto cruise control while driving home. It rocks. I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

Now, I'm going back to read the Manual to learn how to use all its features and to place an order for those wings.

Hey Timeout welcome to the family, I have a white/black V6 but was going to buy the black/black but already have a black/black Altima. Either color u couldn't go wrong, enjoy your new Genny, but next time have some Ba!!s and get the color you want LOL.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your new ride. It's a great car and looks excellent in White/Cashmere. The car is like a beautiful woman, you can see her in just about any color clothing, and she still looks fantastic.

I love the Smart Cruise Control also, at first I thought it might be terrible based on the comments in the forum from 09 owners that had it in other cars and hated it, but it works great on the 2010. One safety feature I experienced last night as I approached a slow moving vehicle that didn't have any taillights is that the SCC will see and react to vehicles in the road that we might not recognize right away. I'm not sure if it would detect a deer in the road, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I will have to take the car to the dealer tomorrow. One of the Lumbar support buttons doesn't work. I checked the connector and it seems okay. I hope it is something easy to fix like a faulty switch or a bad harness.

it is not the BM sucks. it is your BM dealer suck. I had mine 335xi coupe purchased like 2 years ago pre econ crashed, I can get a deal like 800 over invoice. well, i have been with this dealer like 6 years and purchased 3 cars from them. :-)

but obviously Genesis is a much better deal.
