  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is fact. The Hyundai dealers I have dealt with are terrible for how they treat customers in service areas. I had an S550 which of course is the high end of MB, but the service for all MB customers was much better.

Compare to Lexus, which is where Hyundai wants to be - the Lexus service is far superior.

One need not have a chauffeur to appreciate good service or one of the German brands.

While there are exceptions, the experience at the luxury brands can be better than what is normal at other nameplates. There is a price for that treatment and for some, it is worth the price. In many cases, those same prestige brand cars are heavily discounted and have heavily subsidized leases which may make the actual payment not as much of a gap as many assume. The danger being discussed here is buying a $50K car and getting the treatment of a $17K car. For some, that is unpleasant and robs some of the positive vibes of a car priced less than its competitor.

I think you missed my point, good service does not necessitate a separate brand and thus need not be part of the hyundai value proposition. I understand that many people are comfortable paying the premium for the extras of the lux dealer "experience". Whether it's for peace of mind, convenience, or just a little snacky treat with an ego stroke included etc ad naseum, people pay for that experience, I get that.
There is an underserved segment of the market that Hyundai is currently tuned into, drivers who want solid luxury cars without the frivolities and associated costs of a so called luxury dealer service experience. I hope Hyundai keeps down that path and continues to grow market share at a fast clip accordingly, just need to get the word out more and more to the public.
