  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm getting EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT pricing, V6 or V8?

If it were me, I would get the most car I could for the budget I had to work with. If the V8 worked within that budget range, then that would be the car I would buy.

Hello, I am not an official member, yet, but I am close.

I am trying to make sure I am getting the best deal I can. Here is where I am at
with a dealership currently. MSRP 42,150. agreed price $38250.
4.6 with Tech package. I would still have Tax, title, & Lic.
Any thoughts? I think I am going to pull the trigger on it.

Also, I know usually the under body spray and paint protection are BS, but I have heard benefits towards noise reduction in the car and reduced paint chips. Anyone have experience with this on the Genesis? Anyone driving in the snow with Blizzaks? Looking for input. Thanks

Sounds good to me. Anyone who pays less than I paid will always get my thumbs up! Go for it! Good luck.

if the pricing is really that great then I say absolutely go for the V8. Test it yourself and if you are worried about the ride in back have someone come along and sit back there. I never take reviews that I read or hear as my sole decision making tool, always try things out for yourself

Get the V8. :) The only time I have felt any ride oddities is when we had the car loaded up with about 1000lbs of people (4) and hit a big hump in the road at 75mph or so. It felt like the car was riding close to the bumpstops so it kinda bounced us up inside the car like the school bus used to do when you sat in the back and it hit a bump. That was in a V6. So if you are concerned that the ride may be bad for people in the back, take a few people with you.

The only thing I add is wheel protection (wheel rash, bent wheel, etc.) as I have a wife who loves to find curbs and pot holes. And so do I, just less frequent! ;)

That pays for itself over the life of the vehicle. The other stuff I leave on the table.

Just came back from the dealer, 4.6 tech black/black is what i'm getting. I'm going to place my order.

Congrats on your new ride.

Thanks, but I don't have it yet. My aunt is going to place an order for me when she is at work on Tuesday. She said probably about 2 weeks to get it delivered to the corporate office. Oh yeah I have to sign a paper promising not to sell the car within 6 months too.
