Drove to Orlando Hyundai this morning and picked up the Winged Emblem and a paint stick. Richard, their parts guy gave me a super price (discount) on these items. He is my main man when it comes to parts.
Just for the heck of it, I asked what the cost would be to have them install the Winged Emblem. (Body shop would do the install). As much as I love most at the dealership, their body shop and Service Department has no idea what is involved with the install. They at first told me that the Winged Emblem would have to be "screwed into the trunk" and that the trunk lid liner would have to be removed. I informed them (very nicely, I may add) that they were wrong, and that it is a simple job to install the emblem. Needless to say, I did not have them do the job, and went home and did it myself.
2 minutes to put materials together. (tape, cloth, polish, GooGone, etc)
5 minutes to remove the Flying H, using WeedEater nylon line.
5 minutes to remove the tape and gunk still sticking to trunk with GooGone.
5 minutes to polish out the "phantom" Flying H from the paint.
2 minutes to clean with Rubbing Alcohol"
1 minute to remove backing tape from emblem, and place on trunk.
20 minutes total.
