  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2011 Genesis without the tech package. My phone syncs without issues to the head unit, and I can make calls. For some reason, using voice dialing I have to say the last name, followed by the first name. I have changed the setting in the iPhone that says sort firstname, lastname and vice versa. The contacts are always sorted lastname then firstname.

That may be a characteristics of the non-tech package. I have the Tech, and I have always spoken the names First then Last. When I got my iPhone 6, I did a total wipe and setup from scratch, and I did not change any settings related to sorting contacts. It still sent the contacts list in the same configuration as before. I cannot remember how contacts are sorted in the car's address book. I will check it out when I get to my car tonight.

Someone else with the same option package as yours may need to chime in here.

My contacts presented and sorted first name and then last name on the car. I did not do anything special with the phone.

Seems like it works fine with the tech package. Anyone without the tech package care to post their experiences?

I can't get my iPhone 6 to pair with my car at all. Anyone have that problem?

I had that problem initially, but told each device to forget the other several times and repeatedly attempted to re-pair before it worked. FWIW, this is not the first phone or vehicle that put me through those hoops. Sometimes you have to try everything you can think of in varying order until it "takes". Good luck.

I called Hyundai customer service about it and they said they are currently testing with the iPhone 6 and if a software update is required, they will issue one in 6 months. I wont be holding my breath!
