Tried searching, couldn't find any threads that mentioned this so sorry if a repeat.
I have a new 2014 r-spec that is acting a bit flaky with my iPhone. (Owned about 30 days)
First, I always plug my iPhone 5s in via the apple lightning usb cable due to much superior music quality vs Bluetooth streaming.
The issue I am encountering is that the phone often stops responding to iPod controls whether through the DIS knob or steering buttons after a Bluetooth phone call has disconnected.
The scenario that reliably reproduces this is when I am on a phone call while walking to my garage after work then the phone call automatically routes through the car Bluetooth once I hit the start button. After the call ends, certain music playback/iPod commands stop working. However this issue has creeped up a few other random times aside from this scenario as well.
I can browse and select tracks and playlists, still see track info and album art on the dash display, however play/pause and track forward/backward commands stop working whether through the DIS knob or steering wheel. I can control directly through the phone and playback will work then but obviously that is not a safe option while driving.
The only solution I have found is a hard two-button reset of the phone. None of a different iPhone cable, restore, and ios 8 upgrade fixed this behavior.
Anyone else encounter this? While I have found something of a workaround, it is super annoying since I take a lot of business calls in the car during my commute but if not on the phone always want music of my choice playing.
On a separate note I also have an iPod Classic (160gb) with the hyundai iPod cable that is only ever seen as an aux device, so no on-screen iPod controls -- or in other words basically useless ...
Thanks for any feedback
