Hello, friends..
I have a lot of information that has not been discussed in this topic and may be new to most of you.
I am a Genesis G80 owner and I am experiencing the same issues that you are facing in your G70 cars. From what I understand, this issue is present in all Genesis and Kia (
Stinger) cars that use a transmission called (A8LR1/A8TR1).
I see that the members in this topic are performing a reset of the adaptive values inside the TCM, and this step may fix the issue, but not always, as it depends on fluid pressures and other factors.
After extensive research, I almost reached a solution and found a new technical bulletin dated 2023 for all Genesis cars (G70, G80, G90, GV70, GV80) regarding transmission solenoids. It contains many details, including:
1- Replacing the old solenoids
2- Resetting the automatic transmission adaptive values (Required)
3- Oil pressure characteristics input procedure (Required)
4- TCM adaptive values learning procedure (Required)
Most likely, these procedures will solve the problem.
An important point to note is that this transmission heavily relies on learning the driving style, especially after adaptive values are reset.
In other words, when the adaptive values reset process is performed, you must instruct the transmission to learn the correct driving style, as illustrated below.
I have attached the technical bulletin with all the information, and I hope this benefits everyone.
