  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got my 2016 Genesis!

Careful, once the LED surround fad reaches maximum saturation soon, the orange DRL will be the new retro rage and everyone will be adding aftermarket versions ;)

the JDM scene did that in the late 90s, hyperwhite was the shit and out of nowhere "JDM amber" was the new dance. By the time FnF came out, hyperwhite had become a cop magnet.

Thanks. Me, too. My contact over there, Ricky Lao, has stopped responding to my e-mails for an update. I think we are screwed.

One way to handle this would be to give us all Ricky Lao's email address. I recall that he is a heavy-hitter at Hyundai.

One sure way to curtail communication with Hyundai execs open enough to respond to customer email is to start a campaign to blitz them via email. If Ricky is not currently responding to a request, flooding his mailbox will not help. There are those of us who may already maintain communication with some of these people and would hate to see it used in a way that would stunt the communication already occurring. The Android/CarPlay issue has been beat to death and I would hate to see it ruin communication paths already in place. I believe Ricky has already responded about the that issue and more badgering will not help.

+1 - As far as I've seen, Hyundai never made any official commitment to adding CarPlay and Android Auto support, so flaming them with e-mail will just limit access to executives who might be willing to help in other areas. I would just call Genesis Customer Care and log the question/request with them.

that seems sensible. for the record, i only posted the address because i googled "Ricky Lao email" and that came up. it's cool that they're so approachable.

personally I like my amber DRL. I've seen several cars around my town that one of the led drl surrounds have gone out. don't know why...but they don't fix them because it costs too much. just changing an amber bulb on mine is welcomed and way cheaper.

plus now we can tell the 15 from the 16 just by looking at the front during the day.

plus it matches my Toyota tundra....ambers are drl on the truck too. :)

also congrats on the new car! I know you will love it!

Congrats on your purchase! The LED DRLs and the fog lights make that front end look so sweet. I'm jealous my 2015 doesn't have those. Dammit.

The LED DRL's do look better - they make the car look more aggressive and contemporary:

They look fantastic!! Congrats!

The European 2015 version has this LED DRL
It's looking beautiful.

I think the USA was the only region where they made the strange decision to not use the LED surround for the DRL's in 2015 - odd decision for sure.

While I originally didn't mind the amber incandesent DRL's, I grew to dislike them over time after seeing other Genesis on the road - to me they made the car look a little less contemporary. Not a huge problem, but one of those simple details that can make pretty big difference in appearance.
