knock from front passanger wheel and rear

980 miles on odometer and i have noticed a problem. upon full acceleration standing still start sport mode, normal mode, traction on off , stability control on or off I get a loud knocking noise( just one knock) from either front or rear wheel never both one or the other. The rear will also do it cornering hard. Anyone else notice this? I pulled both wheels nothing loose. I wont go to dealer until something fails just a waste of time or a tsb is issued. Thanks Mac

Check for a ROCK between your disc brake and calliper. It happened to me with my 2009 Geny.

I heard what you described just last night. Under hard acceleration from a stop at the bottom of a ramp, almost a thud.

I was thinking axel hop, hoping it wasn't the differential.

It will take a little more experimentation to narrow it down.

Have put on over 3000km in the 1.5 months I've had my Genesis Sedan without this issue. Also a 5.0 but will keep an ear out for this.

I seem to remember in early reports of the 2015 V8s before they were actually on sale that a similar report of a thump type sound under hard acceleration. I say the V8s because it wasn’t noted on the V6s to my knowledge. One reviewer said it had something to do with the rear suspension and that Hyundai should aware of it. It was also in few of the early posts of discussion. Not saying this is the problem but maybe a search for some of those early posts might shed some light on it.

That's exactly what I noticed this morning while leaving for office. I heard a thud sound from the rear wheel as I put the gear ON.

Im wondering if this can be the cause this is from Hyundai site. Electronic parking brake with automatic vehicle hold w/Dash-mounted electronic switch. Available on Technology package.
EPB allows for the parking brake to initiate automatically when the vehicle stops then goes off as soon as the gas pedal is pressed, preventing the vehicle from rolling while in drive.OSElectronic Stability Control (ESC) w/ Traction Control System (TCS) - ESC automatically applies braking force to the inside rear wheel to help correct understeer and the outside front wheel to help correct oversteer. TCS automatically reduces wheel spin under acceleration by reducing the throttle opening and/or applying the brakes

Doesn't feel like either of those things to me. It more feels like drive line snatch, play in the driveline somewhere that gets taken up by hard acceleration.

I only notice it when accelerating hard from a complete stop, like when merging from an off ramp with a light at the end.

Since it occurs instead of wheel spin I'm wondering if its not in the differential. Does anyone know if the Genesis has an electronic diff?
