After picking up a '11 4.6 four weeks ago my Armada and 4Runner were looking dated with the interior lights. Many interior lights are 194 wedge and while some folks like the blueish 6500k lights I really like the 5000k. I misjudged the number needed and had two pairs left.
So I opened the Genesis and all 4 doors have crappy incandescent bulbs. Using a thin blade flathead screw driver the bulb housing/lens comes right out (work on the end away from the hinge).
The bulb housing quarter twists off the lens.
Bingo, 904 bulbs. Pulled it off. You have a 50/50 chance of getting the bulb in the right way as they are polarized. If you look at the base of the new bulb there is a little black curcuit. That faces away from the wiring.
Warning, these are BRIGHT LEDs.
Twist the housing back into the lens and pop it back on putting the end near the hinge in first.
4 doors = 8 minutes
I used the v-leds 194_4_RB_W_5K You get 2 in a pack. I seen discount codes on the board.
WARNING: The RB = Retina Burning
WAF = 2 thumbs up, I did a side-by-side comparison.
