  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

LED Genesis Emblems

Sorry to hijack your thread (these do look very cool) but I see you are in Mooresville. I am in Charlotte. Where did you get your Genesis and how were they to work with?
Thanks!

Being the LED-aholic that I am, I'll likely go ahead and order them in the coming months. Great find!

I assume they WILL need to be wired into the electrical system, but that won't be too hard to snake a couple of wires deom the hood and the trunk to switched power sources.

Just sent you a message about the dealerships I visited and how awesome Lake Norman Hyundai was.

Man, you are my hero... Please post pics if you get these.

Hold on a minute guys. This really looks like a standard Genesis emblem with a 12v led installed. So basically I am calling a ripoff as this is most likely easily done with a standard emblem. Biggest issue I see is getting 12v to the hood or trunk. My guess would be to shave a pin on the front and use the existing hole for the wires. On the rear we already have shaved the pins so no issue there. Personally I would go with blue and would hook up to the head light function.

Reminds me of when we wanted center caps on the gen 1 that went for a couple of hundred until someone figured out how to do them the same way they were for a few dollars.

They have to be wired in, the only draw back is you have to drill a hole for the wires to go thru in the Hood

Why not just shave a peg off the emblem and use the existing hole in the hood?

no hole in hood ...

Not on the Gen 1 but would have to assume they have holes on the Gen 2 just like KDM. Pegs are used for alignment and on factory installed items like the hood wings there must be holes.

The front wings are not mounted on the hood on the Gen 2!

I just ordered the front emblem. I'll post how it goes.

Did you get the emblem? How did it go? Did you install it?

Please give us an update.

Thanks

The emblem has not yet arrived. I will keep everyone posted.
