Has anyone tried to add the LED daytime running lights to a 3.8 Genesis H-trac which are on the 5.0, but absent on the 3.8?

I think you mean LED fog lights - not daytime running lights... and, yes, many have added them to the 3.8. Do a search for LED foglights.
 
Day running LED is a standard option in Saudi Arabia

and its as standard option now in 2016 in USA so i think you can install it
 
I wonder if there will be a way for us 15 guys to switch to the 16 day running led's ?

Highly unlikely as it would require a wiring harness and upstream electronics change. 2015 DRL signal comes down the turn signal wire and is meant to run an incandesent bulb. 2016 has a dedicated DRL lead in the harness.

Both the daytime running lights and the fog lights came as part of the tech package on the 3.8 AWD in Canada, so it should be possible, but likely very expensive and would also depend on the wiring harness in your vehicle.

It might be as simple as just a wiring harness difference.
 
Just got a 5.0 last month. The led brow lights will be on with the stalk switch set to parking lamps. However you loose the auto on capability for the headlamps.

But the LED brow lights are MUCH dimmer when running in parking light mode than when on in true DRL mode like the 2016's have!
