  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Most every auto audio system I have ever heard has too much bass at the center position on the control panel. Plus, the woofers are always a bit boomy sounding. I usually turn the bass control down a notch or two to get rid of the boominess.

Yet another captain obvious thread.................

The subwoofer could also be disconnected.

My Lexicon system has a little less bass than I like. I have to crank mine up a bit.

The bass is fine..... the truck deck rattle (and no its not the sun shade) sucks. Makes the Genny sound cheap from the outside.

Rattles the trunk lid? Maybe my subwoofer is already disconnected..... hhhmm...

My bad yes the trunk lid or rear deck vibrates badly with no where near full bass selected I have read on here where folks add extra sound proofing to alleviate this.

Yeah maybe some Dynamat to reduce vibration. I stuffed my spoiler on my old car with polyfill because it vibrated when the bass was turned up.

 weird. mine (2011 4.6 w/tech pkg) has never produced "blow the doors off" bass. don't misunderstand - the sound is very clean, but nothing close to urban(e) thump.

Yeah mine rattles in the back and sometimes the door panels on some songs. Get's quite annoying. I'll be looking into the Dynamat when I get time.

You don't need the big thumping tunes to get the old girl to rattle. What I have found with the Genny's sound system is that it is very sensitive to the format and quality of the tunes you are playing. I like it loud but if you have quality music playing off of USB stick or drive or disk 15 is plenty loud and will make the truck deck vibrate and rattle like crazy....not nice to hear as your washing the ride.

You want some boom try putting in the DVD Master and Commander and cranking it up........ the canon reports are AWESOME!!! I love getting stuck at train crossings and waiting on the wife as she runs in real quick to the store.

I vacillate back and forth on this one as I wonder if I will create more rattles and squeaks in my attempt to stop the ones I have now by removing trim and panels in order to apply the Dynamat.

time to try some alternate media then. thx V.

The system is designed to play DVD-A or DVD Audio disks which are/were meant to be the best of the best when it came to audio quality/clarity but their popularity never took off. Thus leaving us with a rather lack luster library of music to choose from provided you can even find DVD-A disks. Online is your best bet but finding what you want is (at least for me) impossible. For others maybe not so much. I personally have never heard a DVD-A so I can not attest to their greatness but it may be worth a search on Amazon.
