  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

List your problems since taking ownership

I have had a few, minor issues.

1. Air leak at driver's door. Solved with a new seal package.
2. Radio locking up.. radio replaced. Works, but I have the double backup lines. Dealer ordered another radio, but after doing some research, I think there is a specific setting that can be changed by the dealer. Canada has a TSB on this, but apparently not in the US.
3. Tires replaced due to vibration/balance issues. New tires installed. Much better, but not quite perfect. I'll have it checked again on the next service.

One issue related to the radio... there is a "bug" on my unit (Signature with AVN 4.5) where FM HD stations show one HD channel higher in the dash cluster vs what the NAV LCD shows. So 105.9 HD1 becomes HD2 in the dash cluster.

AFAIK, all Signature's have this issue. If you are reading this thread, post if you see this same issue. (I would not swap the radio due to this, but I suspect that firmware will need an update to solve this bug)

Bottom line I really like the car despite a few glitches. Other than the HD1vs.HD2 bug, I'm pretty confident we will get this all solved.

Zero problems - I'm thinking of starting a thread on that - must be very few of us.

Yes, I thought that I was totally out of it since I have not had any problems other than what was covered by recall. It is fair to say that those who are unfortunate enough to have the Monday Model are more likely to have problems.

So far I'm completely satisfied with my almost 2-year Genesis. When I go to church on Sunday I go down a street where there are a lot of Mercedes and BMWs (Lexus too). I don't see anything better than my Genesis, and I hear they have problems too!:D

Good point. You want to get some perspective on problems go hang out at a Mercedes or BMW forum.

Only 1700km in, but not a single problem to report. It doesn't even get dirty!

Okay, I lied about that last bit.

How? Can you post some pics of where I can do that? I liked under the hood but couldn't see where to put the screwdriver. Neatless to say I am not mechanically gifted

Sure. Courtesy of another user on here - from a headlight thread posted last year.

OK guys, Gen2 adjustment:
#1 Phillips driver with an 8" blade, like this

Now notice the white nylon "funnel" like device and the molding on the engine compartment cover with U and D next to the arrows.
Turn in the direction of the arrow to move the light in the desired direction.

This picture shows the half of the bevel gear set your screwdriver will mesh with and move.
The meshed driver will move the same thing the wrench on the backside will, but it is ever so much nicer to adjust with a long screwdriver.

Here is the driver meshed with the gear and ready to adjust the left side lamp.

And finally, the same thing for the right side adjustment

Firm pressure on the screwdriver and twist until the results are what you want. The molded direction arrows indicate to me at least, that this is the way the real techs at the dealership do it. No need to remove covers, air cleaner, or brace.

I'm beginning to suspect that my paint is defective. The black shows way too much dirt, dust and water spots.

The only real problem is that while some people mistake it for a Bentley :D, a few actually thought that I was dumb enough to own a Chrysler. :(

2016 AWD Ultimate. Had it since November, now at about 5500 miles.

No problems.

2016 AWD Tech built in July 2015, now at 1800 miles and 3 months old.
No major problem, except some minor ones:
(1) a glitch (extraneous information at bottom) in display that resolves itself, once at 400 miles
(2) trip meter reset itself for no reason once, at 200 miles
(3) display of HD numeric designation wrong in the LCD display, likely a firmware bug
(4) several creases in the driver seat noticeable under some light condition. A little surprise they show up so early

Overall, very happy with the car, so far.

I'm having same issue on vibration/balance issues on my 2015 Genesis 3.8 Htrac w/ Michelin tires. Can you tell me how & where did you get all tires replaced? I bought the car at Rosen in Algonquin.

2016 3.8 RWD Tech now at 1190 miles. At 200 miles, bad fuel pump. Fixed. Love this car! Many compliments. I do have to wash it once a week though. :p

2015 Genesis 5.0, not really any problems, just annoyances:

1. A/C- I feel like it's not cold enough for this upcoming California heat.

2. Sirius XM radio - Still haven't received my free trial. Don't know what's going on, already contacted those guys.

3. Lane keep assist - I think I have it turned on? The steering wheel isn't turning when I veer to the right/left like it should.

Taking it to the dealership this weekend to get a diagnostic.

3. Lane keep assist - I think I have it turned on? The steering wheel isn't turning when I veer to the right/left like it should.

Green steering wheel should appear in the HUD if it is fully engaged. If BOTH white stripes are not lit (due to illegible lane marking) - it will not go fully active. It will only rumble if you drift off the side of the road that has the stripe lit.

Also - if you are putting input on the wheel to "veer off" - you will actually defeat the auto-steer and it will only rumble. Same as if you change lanes without signalling. You also need to go into the LKA menu on the gauge cluster and set it for PRE lane departure, not post.

So long as all this is happening - then it should work.
