  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Long time lurker, first time post

LA Genesis, I know that you were one of the more demanding owners of the first gen. I'd be interested in hearing your review of the 2nd gen when you have had some time with it.

Aquineas: As you observed, I can't say much about the car since I have only owned it one week. I tried to be very unbiased when I spoke about my 2012. It was not a reliable car. Had it in the shop for a week during the first six months of ownership. Radio was a nightmare. But there were many good things to say about that car, too.

Initial impression of 2015: The voice control for NAV and radio functions is poor. Commands are not understood. But my overall impression so far is the 2015 is a remarkable car. Much more refined than the first generation G. Everything feels upgraded. I'm very impressed at this point.

I have a Ford Sync system as well as my new Genesis and I can say that I have found this issue with both. Nav on the fly, forget it. Maybe in the future, but I haven't seen one I like yet. The Google search on the other hand is quite useful. I thought it was a gimmick, but it really does integrate into the Nav and phone nicely.

How much did you pay, before TT&L?

Being an early adopter, (purchased late June), and not being eligible for circle discounts, I only got 2000 off MSRP, but I did get what a believed to be a good trade in amount for my VW CC, significantly over book, making the overall deal tolerable. I also got the normal freebies such as wheel locks, trunk liner, and 6 free oil changes!

People sometimes stress out too much about thinking they may or may not have received the absolute best deal, but in my case the particular color combo I wanted was sitting right there in front of me, and after the test drive, I made a deal I was completely comfortable with to get the car I wanted. No regrets!

FYI voice recognition on my 2012 G was excellent.
