  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As I figured, Hyundai is developing a LWB Genesis to replace the front wheel drive, V8 powered Equus JS 380 as the nation's favorite limousine. The LWB adds eight inches to the Genesis, which is already the same size as the BMW 7-Series. The engine in the LWB model MAY be bored and/or stroked to 5.5 liters.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that we'll see the LWB Genesis in America. However, anything is possible. Hyundai doesn't see a market here for it. However, here's a LWB Cadillac DTS, Chrysler 300, Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series, Audi A8 and even Audi A6. Did I miss any? It's obvious there's a market here and as soon as somebody over at Hyundai opens their eyes, they'll see it.

Some limo companies might want to stretch a Genesis. I have a brother in law that works for a limo company and often goes around the country for cars to stretch or limos to buy. They have a wide range of limos from Hummers, Lincolns, Chrysler 300C, to even a Mini Cooper.

Hyundai probably knows that their limousine version won't be as competitive here in the States. Cadillac, and those Europeans are still class or two above anything that Hyundai made or makes currently. Both in design, technology, and quality. Even the Korea only Equus limousine, while it's name is a limo, but it is far from being called a limo in US standards. It's just a lengthened version of the regular one a bit as far as I know. Much like Maybach 62 is to the Maybach 56, but in this case, without ANY added features, just the same car with longer wheelbase, like the previous dodge Caravan is to the Grand Caravan, well, as far as I know. Also, they really need to find out how the Genesis sedan does in US first before delving in deeper for an even larger car. I think Hyundai is being smart right here. They need to wait and see how the Genesis do, and it's not too late thinking about bringing the larger car IF the genesis is a success. Of course, if it is a failure, there is no reason to bring it here anyway.

Good points.. The L market IS very competitive here...

That would be quite nice to have. A much cheaper alternative to a Maybach lol

Genesis? Or Maybach? ...Genesis? Or Maybach? :p Hmmmmm....

At this point I wouldn't see any difference, seeing that Maybach's parent company is wanting engine technologies from Hyundai. With hyundai maybe the Maybach will be a better car lol

Well.. I've seen some Maybachs up close and I have to say - they're really something special.. The larger Maybach (I forget which one that is - the 63?) and the Rolls Royce Phantom are both dream cars of mine.

There's a guy with both of those cars around my area. I've seen the Maybach cruising around twice so far and the Rolls I've seen about 8 or so times. Those Rolls are HUGE cars!
