If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Magnaflow Cat-back Exhaust for the R-Spec

Is there a sound clip anywhere without the cat deletes?

Mine showed up today factory direct from Magnaflow via Hottexhaust. Probably start the install tomorrow night and finish Saturday. Very excited to breath some life into this engine and hopefully pave the way for more V6's to try out the Magnaflow.

I was looking for a drive by. Hanging right above the tail pipe isn't representative of volume. :p

Next time be a little more specific what you want.

got some lift time at my gf's fathers shop. took about 2 hours working slowly to remove the old system and install the new one. took a little bit of time to get all the pipes lined up perfectly and the tips to sit centered in the stock cutouts. overall everything fits like a glove.

Good news and maybe minor bad news for v6 guys. Good news is that my system fit 95% perfectly. Bad news is that one flange on the cat deletes did not line up perfectly with the Magnaflow system. One side was literally 3/4 inch rotated too far so the holes were misaligned on just one pipe.... weird.

I don't know if this was a manufacturing defect from Magnaflow or if the flange on one side of the v8 is actually at a slightly different angle than the v6.

Stock system literally takes 25 minutes to remove with hand tools.

Pics and sound clips forthcoming. I'm at the exhaust shop right now having my guy cut and reposition the flange as we speak. $20 extra so I'm not too upset.

A pic and a brief clip here. I'll get some more video tomorrow when the roads are less busy. Start up gives me chills now.

A little disappointed with the drone because I thought it would be less with the resonators on this system. If I (read: wife) can't stand it, I may try putting the stock cats back on. If that fails, maybe the VTs down the road.

Here's the beast stock system with cats attached (removed all at once). Weighs a ton compared to the Magnaflow.

You sure you didn't have the center section flipped? I seem to remember there is a left and right as the stock system is not completely symmetrical.

The thought did cross my mind and maybe i'm being dense here, but why would side fit like a glove and the other not even if it was flipped?

you said you were a little disappointed with the drone because you thought the drone would be less with the resonators on this system, but i noticed that your system (v6) doesnt have the x-pipe section. perhaps this is accounting for some of the drone?

The picture I posted is of the stock system I removed. What I installed and what has the drone is the Magnaflow Rspec system everyone else has. It does have an x-pipe. There is no system specifically for the V6. I took a chance and mostly lucked out.

Sounds pretty good zielritter, looking forward to the driving video. Exhaust will sound better once engine is under load.

Received my exhaust yesterday and installed it today. Pretty easy to do, about 2 hours total taking my time and getting it perfect. Wish my MSA deletes had been here so I could install it all together. Sounds good, not near as loud as I thought it would be. I weighed both the factory and MF system, MF is 19.2lbs lighter. Looking at the two exhausts side by side, one would think the MF is 100lbs lighter!!

Amazing. I bet you will reduce the black deposits from the DI that swirls around and lands on the bumper (due to factory misalignment of outlet on the cut outs.

system looks great. how is the sound/drone at highway cruising speed on the parkways? any access to a dyno?
thanks,

thanks,

zero drone at idle. sounds completely stock at idle. there is a very very slight hum/drone at highway cruising speeds. with the stereo on volume 5 you cant hear the hum anymore. cruising above 75mph it gets a bit more pronounced but nothing that one should worry about.

partial throttle has a nice rumble and wot sounds great also. its certainly not as loud as i thought it would be. im a little disappointed in that. maybe one day someone will make some nice long tube headers

im fabbing up my own intake piping now. maybe after thats done i can make a dyno run. the place i used to bring my boosted acura only charges 50$ for 3 pulls.

Hi, guys -
Got out today and put together a few driving clips. I'm not going to lie, I think it sounds pretty awesome now, but I'll let everyone by their own judge.
